This is just more examples of the thought of 7 or 8 man football needing to become a thing.  And while I understand the point behind a 23 man cut off rule, there's still been schools that's played, and won, with under 20.  Narrows won the MED with 18 when Grayson was the largest A school in the state in the late 90s.  However, I'll secede the point, that is usually the exception to the rule.

Week 11 at Fort.  Fort win - they clinch a playoff spot as outright MED champs.  Narrows win - clinch a playoff spot as the 4 seed, claim part of a 3 way tie along with Fort and Bland for MED Championship.  Down 21-6 in the 1st quarter, Narrows came back and won on a busted trick play on 4th and 9 on it's 35 in the final minute.  Without this comeback, the deepest playoff run at Narrows doesn't happen.  I have video of this game in it's entirety but no way at present to upload it.  Included Roanoke Times write up:

This is in my professional wheelhouse. It's been my experience when planning, design, and construction plans are made, natural disasters tend to do the opposite of what one would expect. It's very likely, maybe even probable, the timeline will increase rather than decrease. Any time a natural disaster occurs, government agencies get involved that have little to no frame of reference for the planning/design/construction process. Procurement gets delayed over and over again because those agencies lag behind in processing data required for the permitting agencies to maintain a reasonable timeline to get to construction. Considering nothing can be built without the proper permitting agency approval, and those agencies being delayed by the "natural disaster" agencies doing their part, it becomes a giant time-suck the locality waiting for resolution pays a price for. Not to turn this political but the elected state representative serving SWVA will only delay this process further by way of simply not acting. It happened to Glade following the tornadoes. It's happened repeatedly following major flooding. It will continue to happen as long as he keeps getting elected to serve SWVA while living in Salem.

I know as far as Bland goes, Narrows just took the DNP and will divide their points by 9 at the end of season.

Y'all just need to do what James Monroe did to them and kill the power to the stadium coming out of halftime for about 30 to 45 minutes.   They damn near pulled the comeback off.  

You think this spat as far as football goes is entertaining, y'all should've seen how the administration side of that school went for the most part the last 20+ years.  There's a reason it's that half of the county screaming for and wanting to consolidate.  Also why Narrows' enrollment is up around 55% compared to what it was in the late 90's.  But, yall carry on.  This is as entertaining as Peterstown and Union folk bitching about their coaching since ol Donny retired. 

If this is any indicator of the situation among the fanbase of Giles, with all of this cohesion and positive, cooperative attitudes the consolidation with Narrows will surely be a great success!
