  1. Theoretically, yes. But I have rock solid information that’s not the case here.
  2. So you have one account for supporting George Wythe and another account for supporting Graham? That's weird. Well, make that 3 accounts. Which school does this one support?
  3. Obvious troll is obvious, but not a shocker that his “Hard Hitter” account has been drinking the Graham Kool-Aid for weeks. I’ll say this, if I were a 17-year-old athlete, I’d be mortified if someone repping my name was acting a-fool like that.
  4. It’s 55 MPH the whole way, and once you get about 2 miles out of Rocky Gap, it’s flat and straight. Might be a matter of 1-2 minutes closer to Graham, but negligible in the long run.
  5. Christiansburg Floyd County Parkersburg South, WV Radford Ridgeview Union Graham Virginia Galax Glenvar Narrows Castlewood JI Burton Twin Springs Holston Patrick Henry Coastal Carolina No. 17 North Carolina Virginia Tech Old Dominion No. 22 Syracuse Iowa State No. 6 Alabama No. 13 Kansas State No. 5 Clemson Florida State No. 20 Wake Forest LA Chargers Buffalo Las Vegas Seattle Kansas City Games of the Week Abingdon - 45 Grundy - 55 Honaker - 45 Lebanon - 45 No. 2 Tennessee - 65
  6. I think it’s hilarious that you don’t understand the concept of an idiom. You’d think that someone on the Back 9 of life would have…
  7. What’s Hard Hitter’s opinion on this? Surely you would know.
  8. Wonder what your “Jollay, Living Rent Free” account has to say about this?
  9. Ridgeview would need just about everything else to fall right to barely outpoint GC.
  10. Correct, Virginia High can be no better than 4th if Gate City upset Ridgeview.
  11. This isn't correct. Per the VHSL, Ridgeview is at 219 points and Gate City is at 202 points. Including the Power Points those 2 teams should expect to receive, I have them at Ridgeview - 225 and Gate City - 207 without including results of this game. If Gate City won, Gate City would get (18 + 16) points, or 34 total. Ridgeview would get (6 + 8 ) points, or 14 total. Gate City would outpoint Ridgeview 241-239. Even if something weird happened (Richlands over VHS), Ridgeview would still have to outpoint GC outright to get the #2 seed, which is very unlikely. It's perfectly foreseeable for Union to get the 5th seed (or even the 4th seed), which would put them on a collision course with Graham in Round 2. Richlands beats Virginia High OR Abingdon beats Lee, and there it is. In the 1st scenario, VHS falls to 5th/6th depending on the results of the Lee/Abingdon game (Lee win = 6th, Lee loss = 5th). Union moves up to 5th (with a Richlands or Abingdon win) or even 4th (with a Richlands + Abingdon win). The only thing I think cannot happen is for Ridgeview and Union to be matched in the 4/5 game, mostly because Ridgeview cannot fall farther than 3rd at this point. GC can fall to 5th with a loss, so you may see a Union/GC matchup in Round 1 if (a) Ridgeview over GC, (b) Richlands over VHS, and (c) Abingdon over Lee. @Union_Fan can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure of this.
  12. The only truly impressive win Gate City has had in that stretch is the Union game (which was at home, FWIW). Gate City just last week played Central, a 3-7 team that is going to miss the playoffs, to a 21-14 game. One of those games was a 35-28 win over a Marion team that is lucky to be 1-9. I think Houseright has come the closest by far of any coach in SWVA to maxing out the results of his team given the talent level they possess. That's not a criticism at all, and in fact should be taken as a pretty high compliment. SWVA football is better when GC is competitive like this. But that's not the profile of a team that makes a lot of noise in November. I know you've been high on Virginia High this year, but I continue to disagree with the value you put on Brody Jones. I've seen Virginia High play. They got punched in the mouth and folded like a cheap tent. They've played just 2 other reasonably good teams the entire season. A short-handed Graham more than doubled them up, but they did pretty well against an OK-ish Patrick Henry team. Again, that's not the kind of team I'm putting much faith in come November.
  13. This. I like this. But in all reality, this isn't altogether insane. Sure, it would be a shock if Graham lost, but Union matches up better with Graham than anyone else in the Region. Would it be THAT preposterous for Union to beat Graham? As for the other side of the bracket, would it really shock anyone for any of the 2-3-6-7 combo (for example above, GC, Lee, VHS, and Tazewell) to make it to the Region finals? If Union gets stuck in that 4-5 game, the other side of the bracket is wide open for anyone to take. All of them are good teams, none unbeatable, all with pretty significant flaws. It's going to be a fun postseason.
  14. I would respond to the Devil’s Advocate argument by stating that Jordan’s QB in his JR/SR seasons couldn’t throw a pass beyond 15 yards with any sort of velocity or accuracy. That’s not to say that Nunley was a bad player: he ran the RPO like a wizard. But that goes back to “playing to your strengths”. You have a running back that went Division I; an OL that was big, strong, and experienced; and a QB that was far better as a runner than a passer. Jordan would have thrived like crazy with Creasy as a QB. And still yet, Jordan left Tazewell as the school’s all-time reception leader, despite playing alongside the school’s 2nd all-time leading rusher.
  15. (1) Yes, he is. (2) Harris committed to Richmond back in July. I know that Morehead was hard after him, but Richmond’s a perennial FCS contender. Tough to pass that one up.
  16. That’s unpossible! All I’ve heard for 2 solid years is that O’Quinn is by far the best QB in SWVA, actual performance and mechanics on the field be damned!
  17. Harris passed McDonald in total TDs tonight. He went 7/129/2, which by my count puts him at 9 on the season. McDonald went 6/101, but didn’t score. He got stopped about 18 inches shy of the goal line on his 2nd reception.
  18. Now go back to your “Jollay, Living Rent Free” account and post from that one.
  19. Folks sleeping on them. Would not be shocked in the tiniest to see them win Region C.
  20. That was so awesome to watch and call in real time. The ball actually bounced through the uprights, he spiked it so hard. And every single official threw his flag.
  21. Region D is Graham and everyone else. You could make a case for any 2nd, 3rd, 6th, or 7th seed facing Graham in the Region D title game and not be laughed out of the room. Should be a fun ride.
  22. That explains a sophomore WR having the most TD receptions on the team.
