Gretna would only be a 45 minute drive for me and would like to support the G-Men when they are so far from home, but I really don’t want to go into a dump.
In watching some of the Radford game what struck me was Clark often had all day to stand there and pass with what looked like a field full of receivers. Someone has to get to him to beat him. Make them pull people in for protection. You can’t let him stand around back there all day.
That’s a shame for Bland County kids and teams like Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy. Keep an eye on SLMCA. School is growing extremely fast and is well funded and supported. They have a nice playing surface as LU’s turf was moved to SMLCA when it was replaced. Absolutely breathtaking campus setting. They sit in a pretty good geographic location to pull from every direction. Definitely trending up.
I think Graham has the people to match big plays. What Graham needs to do is lean on them every play. If you are bigger and stronger you lean on your opponent the whole time. Make them feel the mismatch every play. Graham has a young QB. You protect him by not putting him in a position to win the game for you, and not putting him in a position where he can loose it for you. He’ll come along.
Gonna be close to 100 here in Central Virginia on Friday and close to 90 in Bluefield. Heck of a day to kick off football. I’m gonna say Graham’s depth and rotation is gonna factor in this one.
Graham vs Lord Botetourt. Every year. It would build it’s own rivalry. Southwest Virginia IS 2A in Virginia. But it has teams that can play with higher classification teams in the Roanoke/Central Virginia area. I’d like to see more do like Graham has been doing and venture east to showcase the talent in the SW corner.
I give a ton of credit to CW for their playbook. Must have been Coach Cline’s. They had some really good calls. They just didn’t have the athletes around the field like Graham had, and I would put the line play at a draw. When they tossed those misdirection passes that sprung their guy wide open toward the edge they just just didn’t have wheels to bust them open. Graham had too many people ready, willing, and able to be game changers.
One thing that really strikes me about this Graham team is the sheer number of potential play makers that you can place the ball in the hands of to win a game. They have a lot of guys that can rise to the occasion and deliver. I see this to be the difference tomorrow and expect to see a good many guys have career games. Culture is too deep and strong throughout this team. I think I’ll slam some Smith Mountain stripers in the morning then head on into town for a big afternoon for the G-Men.
Clements with line movement laterally has been deadly. He just sees and fires the gap too fast for anyone to tackle him. You just have to let the seam play out for him.
Wow. I think that drive has shown the Raiders cannot match at all with Graham physically. That was a smush. Graham just has to stop the big plays defense.
So hard for Graham fans. Only four is a disservice to so many. I’ll go Bradshaw, Eddie Hall, Glynn Carlock, and, as current trajectory supports, Palmer as a coach/player.
