Counts got a reaction from SwvaOG in Week 6: Richlands @ Ridgeview
    On the year so far
Burton is Averaging 190 yards on the ground Ridgeview Held them to -15
Grundy is Averaging 289 RV held them to 153
Central is Averaging 241 RV held them to 194\
Lee is Averaging 159 RV Held them to 123
From what I have seen so far this season RV does play the run tough but tend to give up one or 2 big runs(Plays) per game.

    Found the following
Lee on the year is 30 for 62 (48.39%) for 500 Yards (8.04 Yards per Attempt) 7 TDs vs 0 Ints Passing game accounts for 49% of there yards lost 3 Fumbles and are Averaging 337.33 Total yards per game
RV on the year is 32 for 48 (66.67%) for 600 Yards (12.5 Yards per Attempt) 7 TDs ve 5 INTs Passing game accounts for 48% of there yards lost  3 Fumbles and are Averaging 416.33 Total yards per game
To me stacking up stats Lee "Looks" legit with some nice numbers vs a solid schedule (outside of Eastside)
RV averaging 416 Yards per game (With the Burton Game being called at halftime) is impressive but avgering nearly 3 turnovers a game is concerning

Honestly I feel like the line is better than last season and no longer a glaring weakness.
For all the talk on Grundy playing tighter than expected RV held Grundy's leading rusher to 60 yards on 20 carries and as a team out rushed Grundy on fewer carries.
The DLine seems to be a by comity situation which at this point looks ok there strength on D is at Line Backer where they are as good as anyone in the region.
Central is a much more dynamic offence that Grundy so RV will not be able to load the box so we may see a more fair idea of what RV's Run D looks like after tonight

It isn’t hard to shift the pass spread to a spread to run offense.  Oregon did this to great success the last 15 years or so.  Everyone assumes spread is a pass oriented offense, which, it often isn’t.  The concept of spreading the field and getting numbers for the RB and QB is just as dangerous as a power running game.  The caveat is that you have to be creative with your blocking scheme (using a Bash concept, example).  Additionally you absolutely need an athletic QB.  If you don’t have those two things it will be hard to run.  The SEC and some of the other Power 5 have adapted double teams and ISO with spread concepts to make a power spread.  Good spread teams make great use of the versatile H back roll.  The H back roll can be lethal if the kid can also catch the ball.
Perhaps Mance fell in love with the passing aspect too much.  Perhaps the run blocking scheme wasn’t as effective.  Not sure.  But I will say, you absolutely can run it in SWVA if you buy in and have the staff to coach it.  Hell, RichRod designed a lot of it because he had smaller, less athletic kids in his early coaching days.  And I’ll take it further…a simple RPO scheme can make it hell on a defense…especially one only geared to stop the run.  I’d be remiss if I didn’t call out the absolute need of your WRs to hold blocks in space.  A couple of great blocking WRs is deadly in a spread.

It is a given that Union will be solid year in and year out Do you think that they will be primarily T based Team again or will losing Lomax push them in another direction?
Abingdon lost basically there entire offence  will they be able to reload with so little effort
RV might be scary on Offence next season but they lost several key players on D how well they can plug those holes will go a long way into how far RV can go next season
I personally think Central may surprise some people next season I am not saying that they will go 10-0 or 9-1  but I think that they will be a bit better than middle of the pack

Honestly all district is a horse trader game of you vote for mine and I will vote for yours with coaches that have relationships with other coaches getting the benefit more times than not.
O'quin Not getting 1st team is all but admitting that the 1st team QB would go to the QB of the team that wins district. (I mean just under 2,500 yards and 26 TD are Monster numbers for anyone much less a freshman)
Lomax having to share the POY award is a matter of saying the district winner must have the POY as well
Beavers is a great WR no doubt I believe he was the #1 receiver in the M7 this year and the #2 in the region IMHO

Lee has been so down the last several years I think scheduling wins to get kids back interested in the program (Rather than just transferring to Union 😉 ) is a Valid move

Ridgeview missing one of there scrimmage games and having a week 2 bye makes them a bit of a mystery Central not so much they look like the same Central team of the last several years with some new wrinkles on offence.
IMHO Central will be tough to stop on the ground they have several solid backs making it tough to key on a single player, RV looks to have a more diverse offence than in years past and can put pressure on a Defense
I think Central has the advantage on Special Teams I think the Defense is a push and the Offences are on opposite ends of the football spectrum whoever wins will have a big win under there belt early in the season

I thought RV looked OK they moved the ball pretty well. QB looked good for the most part I only counted 3 bad passes with only 1 that made me cringe mixed with several passes hitting the receiver in stride, Several running backs saw action and ran well , Receivers looked like they blocked well and were able to get open, There were a few drops that were concerning but it looks like RV will be able to spread the ball around in the passing game. The Line looked better than expected they pass blocked well and while not road graders there were  running lanes for the backs most of the time.

On D They look like they match up well with speed but might have a tougher time with a running Offence with a full house backfield of course being a scrimmage that may have wanted to play Base D and not load the box. I know very little about Letcher and only that PH has been a solid 1A team the last several years I felt like RV looked better than PH and even with LC as for the scoring I think total was vs LC (2 - 3 LC) and Vs PH (3-1 RV)  I am looking forward to the Graham Benifit game next week to see how the kicking game plays out

With that many 1 loss teams I am not sure the Battle game would not end up counting as a forfeit as it not only hurts RV and Central but Union in loss of possible rider points

Personally if there are that many 1 loss teams i would not mind seeing the region let in 6 teams  2 teams get a bi 1st Game on Wed 2nd game the following Monday then Championship Saturday (Because drawing teams from a hat is a smack in the face for whoever is left out)
Probably not going to happen that way

Adkins did ok I think 81 yards on 16 carry vs a solid d selling out to stop the run.
Rv can do 1 of 2 things
    1) run Adkins 30 times a game odds are good he will break one at some point
    2) hit some passes and get the extra defenders out of the box

Last year we did option 1 this year option 2

No need to hit the panic button at qb but the passing game needs to get better

I think that at this point the defenses should have a big advantage this week as Offences take more time to gel
For this week I think teams that return most of there starters from last season and run the same system may have it tougher than schools Like Richlands with a new coach bringing in a new system

    I am saying both.
Coaches with the same system and the same players should be ahead of teams trying to break in new starters with no preseason. However those Coaches should also be easier to game plan for
New Coaches like Richlands will be as a disadvantage personnel wise but will see more vanilla Defenses due to no film

Seems like the game that should have the most juice this week with Richlands vs Graham being a non-District tilt
Central is returning 11 on a D that held Adkins and Ridgeview to 7 points at home in there last meeting given the weather I am looking for it to be a low scoring game. with the winner having a big leg up in the playoff hunt

Shelby Valley was a great team to play for power points a AA team that was 9-1 and 8-2 the last two years RV played them there is no doubt that Richlands will be a better team year in and year out but SV will consistently get you more Power points for a win
Pikeville and Bluefield are a wash Bluefield is AA and one is about as good as the other (If Pikeville keeps fielding teams like 2019
I think replacing Honaker with Grundy is a good move as I think Grundy will win the BDD and end up with 7 wins
Keeping Burton is they are the class of the Cumberland and depending on there out of conference schedule will be good for a ton of points
