  3. It's the name that gets me... to me, the ONLY image it conjours up is of a big grey nose. I thought it was hilarious. It's like ... the 70's is finally getting it's revenge for being associated with disco, velour shrits, bell bottoms, The Love Boat, Laugh-In, lava lamps, tricky Dick, Charlie's Angels, red spot gels, CB's and Smokey and the Bandit. It's like it's saying... Here's your land-shark, you little ****s. Ha, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. HA, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. HA, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That'll teach'em. Next up, The Czechoslovakian Brothers Arena (which, of course, will be located within the shadows of the Statue of Liberty).
  4. the earliest Grundy can go to A is the Summer of 2011 - the start of the next 2-year alignment cycle which hasn't been "processed" yet.
  5. this wasn't the SB looking out or the kids ... it was someone trying to make a mess of things. "Denied" was the best move. What does it hurt to stay AA for an extra year and drop duing the nomal pocess, instead of screwing around with the scheds of a dozen schools that have nothing to do with this? I doubt the SB was fully informed before their vote.
  6. Totally agree. While I'd like to see us drop, I think the method was a bit underhanded and coniving. No reason to screw up the athletics and a dozen other schools around the area to make it happen. So, the first can of worms that has been opened is county school boards vs. individual schools. The second is county school boards vs. the VHSL. The unopened can is yearly movements. If this had passed, Grundy could have asked to "play-up" again starting in 2011, and the school board could vote to drop again in 2012. Talk about ticking ppl. off.

  22. Harry Kalas has passed away Monday afternoon in the booth at National Park b4 the Wash.-Philly game. Besides being the voice of the Phillies since 1971, he was Mr. "Inside the NFL" since 1977. He also did those Chunky Soup commercials. http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/v-print/story/1484162.html http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/1484162.html Oh, and former Tigers P Mark "The Bird" Fidrych also died Monday. His pro. debut was with Bristol in 1974... he went 3-0 as a reliever.
  23. Learned that stuff a few years ago thanks to Grayson Co. playing Alleghany Co. - regular season game (endowment) for AC, but a scrimmage for Grayson. Patrick Co. & N. Stokes repeated that.
  24. This is crazy. The Voice said the board asked the school to apply to go A for ... 2009-2010 !!! by 4/1. Those board members sure have got a set, And they don't have a clue, if that's correct. Getting games for 2010 if we drop the SWD teams wouldn't be impossible, but extremely complicated. KY & WV will be starting new 2-year cycles, and if River View opens, another VA team or 2 should have schedule adjustments to make, too (unfortunately, they'll prob. be BDD teams).
