Soccer is a sport you have to experience in person to really appreciate it.

I’d encourage anyone to make the trip to Charlotte to watch a MLS match. Tickets are affordable and the atmosphere is worth the trip alone.

If you enjoy it great...but I wouldn't watch if if was in my back yard and no way in hell am i going to Charlotte unless I HAVE to go

Auburn outscored Honaker 49-29 after the first quarter. One official accounted for a 20 point swing in a high school basketball game?

Every game no matter who wins you can count on the losing team and/or fan base complaing about the refs...and this goes for every level.

Guess it's the easiest excuse...and they seem to never see a call that goes their way...just the 1 or 2 bad calls that go against them.

News flash people refs are human they will make mistakes...geez it just amazes me some fans

It’s a 50/50 split between the “give everybody a trophy” crowd and the VH$L wanted to profit from everyone making the playoffs.

I know the VHSL side of it....but people here defend it saying what's the big deal....the big deal is a 2-8 or so team hasn't earned a playoff berth

More evidence the state set-up with 6 classifications is watered down as hell. Region 1C is hot garbage outside of Auburn and GW.  Parry McCluer and Narrows are decent and deserving of a playoff berth but Bath, Galax, Grayson and Eastern Montgomery are awful basketball teams and wholly undeserving of postseason play.

Same thing I've said about football having too many teams making playoffs...it's a joke.

But the "give everyone a trophy" crowd goes crazy everytime it's said....so you have 2-8 or worse teams making playoffs

Yep, I didn't get to gox due to work.  Heard it was 51-23 at the half.  I've said before, for Narrows to keep up with the likes of GW, Auburn, etc., all 3 scorers have to be hitting.  I'm guessing all 3 must've been off.

Or your schedule hurt you once again when facing a good team....not throwing shade but your schedule is bad...don't help at the end of the season

From my understanding it wasn’t just the sophomore class. Heard numerous rumors that Lebanons senior class (which has a ton of athletes in basketball and baseball) didn’t play because the coach had a history of getting his players hurt.

History of getting his players hurt? Seriously?

Exactly how did the guy have the power to get someone hurt? Much less numerous people?

Sounds like a bunch of spoiled babies to me

Is Williams still coach at Giles? I’m also not familiar with Lowe’s tenure at Narrows, but he seems to do a good job based upon recent seasons compared to enrollment challenges.

Now, traditionally it has been difficult to win at Virginia High and Tazewell since the championship season in 1986. I will say  Tazewell has improved steadily since Harris became coach. Honestly, Tazewell’s biggest challenge currently is being located next to Graham and Richlands prior to Mance’s departure.

    Williams is still at Giles

Lowe does a good job but their schedule and district is usually very weak so he gets a bunch of wins that way...but as i said he's done a very good job and he's a good guy as well
