  1. Neither one of those situations is good for Jamestown. What was the district situation that Jamestown was able to qualify for postseason?
  2. That's the most embarrassing loss I've seen Bluefield have in football. Zero excuse not to score one point on Oak Hill.
  3. Only team in AA that can beat Indy will be Indy. Their line play is very good and the defense is stellar not to mention how good the Price kid is. I don't believe the rest of the AA teams come close to them.
  4. One of my best friends was on that Graham team. I joke with him that I'm not sure Graham wins that title had Byard not transferred from Bluefield. I think Byard set a Graham season record for punt return TDs. Graham was damn good that year. They were down 20-0 to Bluefield and came back to win it 26-20 if I remember correctly.
  5. Graham is recruiting Texas now?
  6. I know about those two situations. Pikeview had an incident recently too. Princeton middle and high school also have had incidents in their histories but I'd never heard of anyone transferring because of safety concerns. That's why I called BS on the rumor. I witnessed plenty of unruly student behavior in jr. high & high school and one incident of a gun brought to school. That was 30 years ago. Most any kid that's transferring to a different local school is about PT.
  7. I call bullshit on that. They don't have any more safety concerns than most any other high school
  8. I have Verizon and never had a problem for years inside Mitchell.
  9. Shane needs to stay where he's at and make his mark as a head coach. He's stated publicly he has no interest in taking the VT job and he's not going to be the savior of the program because he's a Beamer. I've read his name mentioned many times on TSL and Hokie nation needs to get that through their heads and drop Shane from the conversation.
  10. When was John Lilly a player for Bluefield? I know he was an assistant coach for Bluefield for several years with Simon. The years of Independence dodging the Beavers on the football field is coming to an end.
  11. Since I moved out of state earlier this year, I can tell you I won't be in attendance Friday night. I'm not even sure when, if ever, I'll get to go to another Bluefield football game again, sadly. It was a Friday night staple of mine for many years. With this Covid era of no fan attendance and/or game cancellations, it has made my transition somewhat easier to adjusting to life without going to the games. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bluefield get beat Friday with the broken amount of game/prep action they've had for the last two months. I wouldn't be surprised to learn they aren't in shape to play this game.
  12. Maybe they should just cancel the whole effing season until they can find a way to "deal with this." This is not helping anyone to have a few practices here and there for one game to be played over a period of what five weeks? Other teams cancel on you because of their covid issues. There's no post season at this rate unless WVSSAC is just fine giving out another paper champion.....
  13. ame to be canceled FRIDAY NIGHT BLITZ by: Jermaine Ferrell Posted: Sep 7, 2021 / 01:43 PM EDT / Updated: Sep 7, 2021 / 02:06 PM EDT DUBLIN, Va. (WFXR) — The Pulaski County Cougars announced Tuesday due to COVID-19 issues with the Bluefield, West Virginia Beavers, the Cougars home game Friday night against the Beavers is canceled. Pulaski County High School athletic director Scott Vest says they were told by Bluefield officials that due to contract tracing within the Bluefield program they said they will be unable to play this Friday. Vest told WFXR News they are actively exhausting all avenues to secure a home game for this Friday or next Friday, Sept. 17.
  14. Also Oak Glen returned most of that team from last year and they were my dark house to win the title in wacky 2020
  15. Bluefield is not as explosive as the last few years and they throw the ball too much in my opinion. I bet Fairmont blitzes a ton and and scores early. If that happens Bluefield struggles playing from behind and they'll have a lot of trouble picking up the blitz. I believe Fairmont wins 34-15. I hope I'm wrong
  16. Bluefield won't win it this year unless everyone else has to forfeit.
  17. That won't be the only thing that will hurt them this year. Besides, with the color coding map and Mercer now back in the orange, I don't see Bluefield getting to play many games this fall anyways
  18. Bluefield has only three home games so far and Parkersburg has four home and five road games. I believe I see what the problem is.
  19. Loris also had a tornado roll through their parking lot a couple of weeks back...
  20. UVAObserver.....butt hurt over Bluefield High School football since.....??????
  21. Consistency in high school officiating leaves a lot to be desired in different areas as you travel around following your school's teams but this is still high school level after all.
  22. How'd they get LB to agree to two of the three games to be played in Bluefield?
  23. Plus they could qualify for the playoffs in AA instead of not having enough AAA teams to play and be ineligible for AAA playoffs.
  24. Simon doesn't do that on purpose. People have posted that on here because they've been butthurt by a Bluefield football team in the past and Simon was an easy target. Martinsburg isn't doing it either and their score differences are far worse.
