  1. I saw them early in the season. They are good and getting better but not like the boys team. Wouldn't be a contender in one of the larger classes. Their best player went to Courtland two years ago and a private school last year. Plays for Team Loaded of course.
  2. Imhotep is a big-time program. Here is a preview of their team for this season: https://www.cityofbasketballlove.com/news_article/show/1289158
  3. They've also pulled a good big man from Baltimore and a point guard from a private school in Northern Virginia. https://247sports.com/player/marcus-jackson-46142349/

  5. There was a Clinch Valley District from 1970-78. Original members were Castlewood, Cleveland, Council, Garden, Honaker, Hurley, Lebanon, Pocahontas, St. Paul, Twin Springs, and Whitewood. Haysi joined in 1972 and Cleveland closed around that time. Twin Springs left a few years later. In 1978 Honaker, Castlewood, and Lebanon left for the Hogoheegee and the remaining schools became the Black Diamond.

  8. Calling the Falls Church News-Press a newspaper is almost giving it too much credit, it's basically a blog in print form that's given away for free.
