I find it odd that Padgett has coached for at least 15 years at numerous schools and never had any issues but after one year at Tazewell it's his fault. On the other side, how many coaching and admin changes have gone on at Tazewell in the last 15 years?

They split during the regular season. Union beat them early in the year and Wise beat them towards the end of the season. 

I don't think any team in SWVA in any of the major 3 sports will be able to eclipse their success. 

I'd recommend going back and watching the game on NFHS. The kid never went back to play any defense. He just hung around half court waiting to get a fast break opportunity and pad his stats. I'm not sure that should be considered classy.

Central's defensive strategy of face guarding Reece seemed to bother Lebanon for a majority of the game. Thompkins did an excellent job of denying him the basketball. Hayes and Horne hit some big shots to keep their lead going into the last few minutes of the game. Not having Jessee rebound for Lebanon really hurt them once he went out of the game. 

The SWD 1 seed may not beat the Mountain District 4 seed much less Ridgeview. This happens ever year. 

This seems to be the case for most teams in todays game. It is rare to see a team that is able to get the ball into the post much less have a post player being able to score with their back to the basket. A majority of players are settling for the three point shot and their coaches are content to run a 5 out system using their big men as screeners instead of scorers.

It is good to see Battle winning games. I think they play hard for their coach and they don't show boat or complain when things aren't going their way. I would like to see Union's coaching staff enforce consequences for the behavior of their players. Leading the district in technical fouls should be embarrassing for the school.

Not real impressed with Glenvar's strength of schedule. Their best win is either Northside or Carroll County and neither of those teams are finishing in the top three of the Mountain District. It will be interesting to see if they can stop old school smash mouth LPD style football. Union has already shown they can defeat a pass heavy team that relies on a great quarterback when they beat Lebanon.  I'll take Union by 14 points.
