  2. I agree with the whole do your job, focus on what you can control stuff. But, I also enjoy the speculation, the what ifs this time of year.
  3. Grundy getting through the rest of their schedule with only one more loss would be huge for Hurley. That's really the only team we have to hang our hats on for points.
  4. Hurley beat a previously undefeated Grundy and Galax lost to Fort. Therefore, Hurley leapfrogged to #1. Its not what PH didn't do its what Hurley did.
  5. That escalated quickly

  7. I think Grundy gets out this week with a win. Their backfield will wear Central down. Should be a good game into the 4th quarter.
  8. And just like that, GMan returns to serenade us with his lyrical prowess.
  9. Lol this got out of hand quick. I'm sorry for joining in on the verbal onslaught that has been this week haha. Merely offered my opinion on our scheduling issues. I will now sit back with my popcorn and watch this play out....as you were
  10. You should go back and read my post. I said we couldn't compete REGULARLY due to our enrollment size. I wouldn't mind if they scheduled all 2A for that matter. I'm just saying getting clobbered year in and year out helps neither team. This year and the past 2 or 3 would've been great to have the teams everyone is talking about scheduled. But when the current group of kids graduate there's no telling when the next group of solid athletes will come through, again, due to the numbers. Are you with me now? This has nothing to do with not wanting to play up to better competition.
  11. Nonsense is thinking that numbers have nothing to do with success.
  12. Winning teams will always have a larger roster than losing teams and Hurley has had some good seasons since Coach Tester has taken over. I said earlier our enrollment hinders us from being able to compete with larger schools regularly, in such a way as if a school with larger enrollment numbers has 30-40 kids come out to play there is a greater chance that a higher percentage of those kids will be better athletes as opposed to a school with smaller enrollment numbers. Regardless of what your wife tells you, size does matter.
  13. Is it just me or is there a lot of unnecessary hostility on the board this week lol
  14. Not so sure that would be beneficial to either school. Hurley is having an outstanding year and had a great turnout for the team this year, but we can't come up with athletes to hang with Giles year in and year out with such small enrollment numbers. The up years for us could produce some great games but it would be a lopsided score more often than not for what a 3 hour bus ride?
