As a fan of both teams I have a different take on this game. I think Va High has too many factors in their favor this year for the following reasons: 1. It is homecoming week and RHS usually plays fairly flat in this week of the season. 2. Va HIgh has had 2 weeks to rest and prepare. 3. Va High Will be" Up "for this game remembering what happened the last time they played at the Ernie. 4. The addition of the transfer running back from Abingdon who ran all over RHS last year. 5 Sewell is back and RHS doesn't have anyone in the secondary who can cover him much less he and Watkins both. One will have to be double teamed while the other will run wild. 6. RHS will be hard pressed to pass against Va Highs secondary. With all this in mind and to the dismay of my family and friends in Richlands, I think this game is going to shock many . VHS by 21

Coach Crist and Barry Reed were quoted in the BHC that due to the enrollment difference we can't match up and be competitive with them. The scores and series comparison reflect that. Enough is enough. Just my opinion. What are your objections?

This game needs to become a pre-season benefit game and give the gate receipts to various charities. Any thoughts ?

The battle between two "Has Been" programs. Possibly both teams only chance to win a game this season. Any thoughts ?

I just wanted to start an intelligent discussion on a matter that needs to be addressed. Obviously that is above those who have a juvenile idol worship complex of Coach Mance and staff.Yes , this staff is the elite of the coalfield area(wow that is impressive) but is consistently Out Smarted north of Wytheville. Too bad for us that in order to compete on a state level we have to compete against teams and staff that are intellectually superior to our staff. I guess Virginia really does end at Roanoke. As this will be my final post (I don't debate with idiots) I would like to issue this challenge to Mance and the other coaches: In the next few years make it back to the state finals. Prove me wrong.

As this program continues to decline in the next few years those of you who are offended will join the BAND WAGON. Sorry to bust your bubble but there are many in the stands who are loyal fans who feel the same as I do. By the way , I havent missed a game in 21 years so take that and shove it.
