Girls soccer

 

Richlands - 5

Abingdon - 3

 

Makenley Davis and Chelsea Perkins each had two goals to lead Richlands (the BHC says to a non-district win)

 

Know the Richlands boys lost to Abingdon boys, but don't know the score

dont get in your mind Grundy may be someone to watch. Both goals vs Tazewell were flukes. and i heard the Rlands game was pretty much the same way.

 

too bad Tazewell didn't have a few more "flukes" or they might have won the game!!

Marion 7, Grundy 1

 

Sophomore Isaac Glass notched a natural hat trick to open the second half, helping lift Marion to a victory over the Golden Wave.

 

Velo Garcia started the scoring for the Scarlet Hurricane, but Grundy’s L.C. Mutter knotted the score with a tally before Garcia would break the tie for good with his second goal of the opening half. Trent Snavely capped the first-half scoring for Marion before Glass started his scoring display over the final 40.

 

Marshall Wagner scored the last goal of the game for Marion (4-2-1), which faces Graham at home on Thursday.

Tazewell 4, Carroll Co. 2

 

TAZEWELL, Va. — Molly Altizer and Kayla Cline each netted two goals for the Lady Bulldogs at Tazewell High School.

 

Rachel Adams provided the assist on Altizer’s second goal and Breanna Holloway assisted Cline on the final Tazewell goal, which built on a 3-2 halftime lead. Allison Johnson had six saves for the Bulldogs (4-3, 2-3 SWD).

 

Tazewell plays a girls-boys doubleheader against Abingdon on Thursday. The Tazewell boys play at Carroll County today.

Isaac Glass had his second hat trick in as many matches and Trent Snavely added a pair of goals as the Hurricane beat Graham.

 

Marshall Wagner and Brandon Kegley added the other goals for Marion (5-2-1), which hosts Carroll County on Tuesday.

 

Abingdon 8, Tazewell 0

 

Will Coale and Tyler Eschle each had a hat trick and Luis Ramirez and Paul Browning added the other markers as the Falcons rolled to a win over the Bulldogs.

 

Chandler Hudman, William Brown, Browning and Eschle all recorded assists. Conner Pennings secured the shut out with two saves.

 

GIRLS SOCCER

 

Abingdon 6, Tazewell 1

 

Kara Garrett and Lauren Morelock each tallied a pair of goals and each also recorded an assist as the Falcons beat the Bulldogs.

 

Lydia Billips and Kierra Morse also added goals for Abingdon, which put 27 shots on the net.

What a joke this game was.

 

The refs were absolutely terrible. One of the parents kept a count of the fouls and I can't exactly remember what it was but something like 35-13 in favor of Marion. And something really needs to be done about their field. It's not regulation size and they choose to play their so they can take advantage of it. And when the ref is just giving you calls it gives you that many chances to put a ball on the frame of the goal. It's such an unfair advantage. You can't even call it soccer when you play on that field. You should not be able to put balls on goal from mid-field. One of our players can throw the ball half of their field. That's not soccer.

 

I would also like to say great sportsmanship for Marion. One of their players was making fun of our coach while he was on the field playing. That's so disrespectful.

 

I can't wait for when we play them at East River. I'm confident we will beat them. We always do.
