kevin 13 Report Share Posted November 15, 2013 Is graham single a or double ? How can they be in the same district as narrows but play richlands in the playoffs? How does that work?
redtiger 1,739 Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 My man, have you been under a rock for the last year? j/k The system is all different. VA now has a 6A system, schools from up to 4 different divisions can be in the same district. The Mountain Empire District is made up of A and AA schools. Graham is AA
VHSLhelper 570 Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 single/double no longer exisrs Graham is 2A out of 6A eash district has teams from more than 1 level, just like before. Like Carro\ll was Div. 4 while we were Div.
Lance 228 Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 forget everything you know about districts, the VHSL has destroyed them.
kevin 13 Author Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 Ok thanks guys. I'm a wv guy. Just kind of hard to understand how virginia does it. It just seems alot more simple in Wv. Of course I am biased. Lol.
VHSLhelper 570 Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 all va. basically did was say Districts can be whoever y'all want, and all schools will now be in their 'right' Class come playoff time.
redtiger 1,739 Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 The way I understand it VAs system isint that much different than WVs. Only districts can be made up of schools from different classifications
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 VA's system is completely different from WV's...WV uses the same system VA uses from 1970-1985...before there were divisions...
kevin 13 Author Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 So is there still 2 champions for each class?
Ryan4VT 4,546 Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 No. One champion for 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A.
kevin 13 Author Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 Do you have to win 5 games to be the champion? Am I reading that right?

redtiger 1,739 Report Share Posted November 16, 2013 The old divisions basically became new 1A-6A classes. as far as comparing VAs to WVs, I thought they were much more similar, at least as far as how the playoffs are structured? please enlighten me GMan
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted November 18, 2013 Three classes...12 pts for win over AAA, 9 pts for win over AA, 6 points for win over A. No points for losing. 1 bonus point for every win a defeated opponent has over teams in its class or higher.
