244-119-1 Glynn Carlock 32 years all at Graham 1973 to 2004

205-106-4 Tom Turner 26 years all at Appalachia 1980-2005

185-93-4 Don Williams 25 years: 66-37-3 at Pennington 1970-1979; 13-16-1 at Coeburn 1980-1982; 54-18-0 at Pennington 1983-1988; 37-13-0 at Lee County 1989-1992: 15-9-0 at Lee County 1997-1998

Joel Hicks is a name that gets unjustifiably overlooked in these discussions.  Doesn't get enough credit for those great Pulaski County teams of the early 1990s, back when their state title was in the highest classification.

Hubbard has done a outstanding job at Honaker period. I could not make a list of ten without him. He has done more for the community than football also. We have been blessed with some great football coaches here. We also have had a lot of good talented young men with hearts as big as the Titanic and and strong wills that are unrivaled!

1- Carlock

2- Ragsdale

3- Colobro

4- Mance

5- Robbins

6-Frye

7- Cummins

8- Hubbard

9- Rider

10- Colley

The old former District 8 and the Lonesome Pine District had great coaches. Some of the best. Schools listed is where they spent most of their career.

1. Ralph Cummins, Clintwood

2. Phil Robbins, Powell Valley

3. Tom Turner, Appalachia

4. Harry Fry, Gate City

T5. Jim Riggs, Appalachia

Nick Colobro, Gate City

Cummins, Fry, and Riggs all spent time in that old classic District 8.

All powerhouse programs.
