Union @ Richlands

Milo may be the smartest guy on this board! Lol.. Plain and simple, Richlands took it to us. We were out coached and out hustled. Richlands exposed our weakness staying in a zone D, Union has a tendancy to stand around on offense and they knew it. On D, we had no answer. Good game by Richlands and good luck moving forward.

Just like to put this out there for you all:

After winning in the Regionals Richlands will play Chatham 20 minutes after Gate City Plays Dan River at James River tip off is set for 6:00 PM.

Couple of scenarios here for you all.  IF Richlands and Gate City hook it up, two possibilities both lose, both win, the game will then turn into Region 2 A West Championship Game at UVA Wise on Saturday NOT at James River....

If Richlands meets Dan River or Gate City meets Chatham in 1-2 or 3-4 consolation game The game will be 3rd place consolation game tip at 4 at James River, Championship 1-2 Game, will be at 6 at James River high school

Moving on Friday March 3rd will have all 8 teams left 4 from 2 A West and 4 from 2 A East playing at the Convention Center at James Madison University.... (Address and all on VHSL Website)
Starting at 2:15-7:45 that evening....

2AW1 vs 2AE4
2AW2 vs 2 AE3
2AE1 vs 2 AW4
2AE2 vs 2 AW3

Semis will be at James Madison. Higher Seed will be home white
Finals will be March the 9th at Siegel Center VCU

That will have to be validated on all involved parties tomorrow,

congrats  BLUES,the Bears need to become road warriors in the future, both in basketball and in football. We have a history of not traveling well, big loses at RICHLANDS and GRAHAM last year.In football, STUARTS DRAFT, CLARKE, APPO, ECT.If you cant go on the road plan on the championships going elseware. The BEARS are not able to go on the road and TAKE IT TO THE OTHER TEAM....just an observation. good season bears

Listing fouls I have for the Bears which agrees with the Bristol Herald of 15 for game.  This is to clarify not to start any controversy.

Back -- 4

Garrison -- 1

Jenkins -- 5

Mitchell -- 4

Sharitt -- 1

In the first half the Bears scored 2 points from the foul line

In the second half the Bears scored 2 points from the foul line

The Blues did have 7 fouls for the game.

In the first half the Blues scored 4 points from the foul line

In the second half the Blues scored 7 points from the foul line

So that is a net of 7 plus points for the Blues in the game from the foul line

Overall the game was called pretty well. I really only saw one obvious foul that wasn't called. It was when #3 was driving to the basket and he got hammered. Not sure how that call was missed but other than that Union just got frustrated by not being able to guard Ball and started hacking. The term being mugged all night might be a little over kill.
