GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted May 19, 2017 Well, first off, if he coached at Summers Co. for the last three seasons, he didn't take them to three playoff appearances. Summers is a perennial homecoming opponent for decent schools. in 2014, they went 1-9 in AA against a schedule that included weaker AA schools and several Class A schools. In 2015, they went 8-2 in AA and made the playoffs as a #10 seed via beating up on said weak schedule...they were beaten in the first round 68-28. In 2016, the dropped to Class A and once again went 8-2 against a schedule full of weaker Class A and the worst of Class AA opponents. Again they were a #10 seed and lost in the first round 34-20. Oaktree 7 Report Share Posted May 19, 2017 He was the star running back on the 2006 Giles team. He played at Concord. I don't know much about his coaching ability but he is young and should be able to get the boys out to play. I don't really know what kind of offence or defense he runs. Bluefield researcher 1,195 Report Share Posted May 19, 2017 He coached there the last four seasons. IMO he did a great job. Made the playoffs three of those four years. Two of the the three playoffs were as one of the smallest AA teams in the state and last year as a large A school. 2013 9-2 2014 1-9 2015 8-3 2016 8-
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted May 19, 2017 But they always played the weakest schedule possible to attain those records. If they had played an average schedule, they wouldn't have been over .500 during that time.

They played all local teams with about the same enrollment.
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted May 20, 2017 Well, the teams they beat in the three years I listed, had a combined regular season record of 47-123 for a .252 winning percentage...in other words, his wins were a product of just how terrible the schedule was...
