Thank you for this.  Pikeville would beat Graham by at least 30.

They wouldn’t.

CapPreps has Pikeville winning 35-19. In fact, they have them winning every projected matchup against every top 3 team in all the Class 2 regions.

They truly are THAT good. They’re projected to beat Salem, too, FWIW.

Just tell the wifey you need to work the speedway in lights but ....get lost near hansonville , come to Big Stone for 2 or 3 hours to get your bearings straight

That would work except for me to get to the track, I’d go about 8 minutes to the west from my house. And Hansonville is very much right. 😂😂😂

Poquoson is the team that beat Richlands for the title in 2010.  They play in a very good Bull Run District with teams with higher enrollment.  They are consistently pretty darn good.

Not what I meant, I'm saying everyone always says their gonna win every year and they don't I'm not saying their bad.

Huge difference in winning and "not being in the same league with."

I never said they weren’t “in the same league with” anyone. Just stating that the projections show Pikeville would be the Class 2 champion in the VHSL. And projected to beat the favorite for the Class 4 title.

Back to the game, I hope Union wins this one but I got a feeling it's gonna get ugly.  If they could just play the way their capable of they could win but they just can't help themselves with the mouthing off, extra shove here and there and unnecessary penalties.  I hope they prove me wrong but I wouldn't bet on it.

I’m not a CalPreps disciple, as you well know, LOL.  I think it’s a fair ballpark estimate but doesn’t take into account Graham not playing its starters beyond a half most nights.

They also projected Richlands to beat Central so there’s that. Too many external factors that can determine an outcome. I actually used CalPreps to pick all my 1st round wins and ended up 12 of 16. That’s 75% which is a D in most districts.

They’re not perfect. But they did have Richlands winning by less than a TD. And before the last TD when Richlands had given up after Central got the first down to ice it, it was going be be a 5 point win.

Being a big fan of Appo for many years and watching them thru thick and thin i have to say some people have over hyped my Raiders. Yes we lost to Buckingham, no excuses from me they were the better team that night at that time. Appo is a young team same as last year, alot of growing to do yet. Smaller sqaud than past few years so staying healthy is pinnacle. My honest opinion Appo will win region C. After that im scared to try to guess. Too many things can go wrong and being young pressure could get them like it did last year.

You are a wise man, I hope to see in in a few weeks....save me a warm cup of chocolate if we make it

And I never stated that you said that. I agree with your post. Read back through the thread and you will see what I was referring to.

Y’all prepare yourselves for that train horn to never be stopped. After they threatened to escort Union fans out of Mitchell for little air horns — I cant even imagine how loud and often they’ll blow the train horn Friday night.

I'm bringing 2 and 4 cowbells:)

We disagree. Let's leave it at that. I've seen Appo play, and I'm talking about Appo seeing wide open offenses more than SWVA teams. I wasn't referring to Appo's offense, but you didn't read through post.  Pikeville beat Paintsville 7-6. Paintsville probably should have lost to Union. Pikeville is fallable. Kentucky football at Pikeville level is not close to VA football at Pikeville level. A team that is familiar with Pikeville offense held them to 7 point, and Union nearly beat that team. If Appo and Pikeville played, Appo would be right there with em and to say Appo isn't on their level is flat out wrong in my opinion.

Yeah we don't agree. You've made several bold claims and now you're going a completely different direction. This started bc you said Appomattox would beat Ridgeview like Pikeville did, let's not forget that. Then you said Graham at their best runs Appo off their home field. But I'm done with this.

Good, you be done with it then.

Pikeville throttles Ridgeview. Pikeville escapes Paintsville, and Paintsville escapes Union.  The weak link in that is Ridgeview and Appo would hammer them, and Appo is in the same league as Pikeville and so is Union and Graham. On a good day, Graham would trounce Appo, but Appo can beat Graham playing at Appo.

The above are my opinions. Bold? Maybe. It's not as bold as a stupid a% statement such as Appo is living in the past or that Pikeville would beat Graham by 30.

Anyone want to rent out a REAL train horn? All it will cost is free admission and free hotdogs. Union held up to there end of that deal a few years back lol

We could always use 2. Could you set up behind the Graham benches? Lol

Graham’s offensive line seems to have finally found their footing and seem to be controlling the game better than they were back in early September. Unions secondary has struggled giving up big plays. Gibson has struggled mightily this last month of the season and it doesn’t help our offensive front has struggled blocking. A lot of things to factor in to this game. Hopefully Union finds a way to move the ball consistently, control the T.O.P. and get off of the field on third downs.

No dumber than claiming Appomattox beats Ridgeview like Pikeville did.

Appo scored 6 against Buckingham, 17 against Rustburg, 14 against Heritage and 21 against Gretna, the best teams they've played, but sure they'll score 60+ and best a good Ridgeview team with a legit D1 prospect and their starting QB who IIRC sat against Pikeville by 30+ points.

You’ll have to have a balanced attack to beat graham, Union does not... I know you’re gonna say “we already beat them once”, yes you did, i watched Graham’s middle LB throw up twice on the field. You’ll see a much different defense this game. Polier will get his yards, he’s a tough kid, but graham will key on him. Without a passing game you’re at a severe disadvantage, I can see this game getting ugly by the 3rd QTR
