(WVVA) - A reliable source has confirmed to WVVA that Martinsburg's David Walker will take over as Concord's head football coach in 2020. Walker led the Bulldogs to 56-straight victories and eight of the last ten Class AAA state titles, including four-consecutive championships. A 1983 graduate of Pineville High School, Walker went on to play collegiate ball at Glenville State. He served as the team's co-captain for two seasons and earned All-WVIAC honors during his junior and senior years. Walker became the youngest head coach in West Virginia history at East Hardy High School in 1988. He compiled a record of 56-41 with the Cougars, earning seven-straight playoff berths. In 1997, he took over at Martinsburg, leading his team to the postseason each year from 1998 to 2019. The Mountain Lions finished the 2019 season with a 1-10 record.
