Smart by whoever it is if the choice is between Thursday and Saturday. Maybe Bluefield College or Bluefield State plays on Saturday at Mitchell, so they only option could be Thursday. Whether intentional or not, brilliant move by somebody because Covid pops up with lightening speed. There is plenty, more than plenty of time for Covid to strike from Friday afternoon at 3 pm until 11 AM on Saturday that can quickly cancel the Saturday game Playing on a Thursday night shorten the "covid chance" and increases the chances of getting the game in, an din the event of something weird on Thursday night that cancels it, there is at least some hope or a possible chance to make it up on Saturday if the local college team and that time allow for it. Fairlawncat 252 Report Share Posted August 31, 2021 If the option for High School in Virginia this year is not available on Friday and the initial choice is Thursday night or Saturday, AD's better be wise and choose Thursday night, because.......Covid is to easy. Bluefield researcher 1,195 Report Share Posted August 31, 2021 I don't know what the arrangement for Mitchell Stadium is now But there was a time that Bluefield always got their choice. Then about 10 - 15 years ago when both schools started paying rent Graham requested equal treatment for game dates when both were home on the same weekend. They got it and that is fair. There were times when Bluefield played on Thursday and Graham of Friday. They also requested the home side of the stadium for their fans when Graham was the home team for the Beaver - Graham game. They got it. Again that is only fair. Now I am not sure why they are not alternating Thursday / Friday home dates when both are home the same weekend. Perhaps Graham has forgotten?
