Union has three RBs that would start for any team in the region, they won't be easy to stop but I worry if Graham gets an early lead, they'll struggle to come back.

If we get down early I'm not sure how we'll react.  Our biggest issue now is we've not been tested yet and I doubt it happens this week.  If we would've been able to play Richlands I thought we'd win this game now I'm not sure

I've not witnessed it first-hand, but why is Graham considered so undisciplined?

Graham has routinely been heavily penalized since Palmer took over.  Obviously he’s revived the program and won a state championship, but that’s been a strike against them at times.

After the Tazewell game, Tony said in the paper it was the most frustrating win he has gotten. Miscues and uncalled for penalties. I can assure you those kids have done more than their fair share of running this week. With that said a certain amount if attitude is necessary. Just need to learn how to find the switch and turn it off when its time. I mean we aren't playing a game of ping pong here.

Graham had a scrimmage on 8/12. Cancelled practice and workouts the next week. 2 practices for the Bluefield game then shutdown again. 2 practices and a walkthrough before playing Tazewell. I believe they will be much more polished and disciplined against Richlands. Richlands is a good team and not to be taken lightly.

Do parents escorted out by police still get to attend? Or Special parents get privilege? Asking for a friend.🌪️

He was never “escorted out” by police. He was asked off the playing surface onto the sideline where he remained the rest of the game.

Learn facts before you throw stones, sir.

I'm sure Graham is not looking ahead to Union yet.  However, watching Graham the other night, they look more athletic and much faster on defense then last season.  Penalties are a problem, yes, but I think they will have a very nasty defense by the end of the season.  Now is the time to beat Graham, early on.  I have a feeling they will resemble the 2018 and 2019 G-men by the end of the season, both of those seasons, the defense got better and better as the season went on.

Either way escorted off field or out of the stadium, a bit embarrassing when you're the principal. Hopefully, cooler heads prevail this Friday.

All that tweet says is that he was escorted off the field. Doesn't say out of the stadium or anything like that. He walked off the field with a few of Richlands' finest and stood in the back of the endzone watching the rest of the game with them laughing and talking to them. People read WAY too much into that tweet.

You take the principal hat off for a second when your son is attacked in the back while walking back to the sideline.

Its amazing to me the blatant double standard we have here. Its no secret Graham had too many penalties Friday night against Tazewell. All of which was a direct reflection of Tony Palmer according to some. Graham's team didn't take a knee during an injury. Tony Palmer's fault. Should they have taken a knee?Yes. Tazewell’s starters stood in a huddle talking to their coaches. Only the players on the sideline took a knee.......crickets. Last year's Tazewell team had more than  their fair share of 15 yard penalties. Was that a direct reflection of Coach Harris then? Nope not a word was said.

Y'all keep hating. We'll keep winning.

Wait a minute. There was an altercation at another game in Tazewell County? It had to be Tony Palmer's fault!😂 There's no way it could have been Coach Tarter's fault.

If my son was "attacked from the back" as you say. I would probably be asking myself what caused a farm boy from Gate City to do such a thing. Could it be that little Johnny's on the field shenigans caused such a reaction? Maybe precious little Johnny has been writing checks with his mouth that his a$! can't cash. Maybe we have been spitting on kids and said Gate City player had enough.

I wasn't at the game but my first thought is what did his son do leading up to that? I highly doubt the Gate City player did that out of the blue for no apparent reason. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the other player but I'd bet the Richlands kid had a big hand in what came his way. Even as a parent when you're the administrator, you gotta be better than the average Joe parent. Just my opinion, like I said I hope cooler minds prevail this Friday on the field & the sidelines and it's a friendly competitive game with no injuries for either team.

In the big picture of things, if a team is consistently getting penalties of the 15 yd variety it is a reflection of the head coach and staff.  To quote a favorite move line of mine, "Attitude reflects leadership."  I will say that about any team any school, even Tazewell.  Last season was an exception on a lot of things simply because that's what the season was.  Not making excuses but it is what it is.  Also the fact that any two Tazewell Co teams playing each other has a lot of "emotion" we will call it and that also elevates it as well.

The whole take a knee debacle is an interesting point that I have varied opinions on.  For one, you don't see it happen in college unless it is a severe/serious injury that they are going to be carted off the field with.  Second the sidelines could easily show that respect while the active team huddles up on the field to discuss things.  I've heard some coaches say that don't take a knee, use this time to talk about issues while you can.  Personally I think it is just as disrespectful in some ways to be yelling at the kids from the stands.  I guess in the end my point of view is it is situational, as taking a knee for cramps or a stinger just diminishes the respect of it when it is something very serious.  With that said I'm not playing down any injury. Cramps suck and a even a bad hit can bring some major pain that goes away quickly but it still hurt like hell when it happened.

He recovered a fumble at the bottom of a pile. I’m sure he probably did some trash talking — as 99% of players do. But no one really knows, because we weren’t at the bottom of the pile with them. What we do know — is what the second person did — which was react with a cheap shot and then trying to fight a coach — leading the principal to come onto the field and try to stop a melee and check on his son.

Like it or not trash talking is big among this younger generation. If you’re 35+, you probably trashed talked a little but nowhere near what these kids feel led to do. I don’t like it personally but it’s here to stay. The BIGGER problem I have with it is when the game is out of reach and the winning team still feels the need to talk sh*t. The losing team has nothing to lose, they are down, frustrated, and looking for an opportunity to take a dirty shot. It’s only 15 yards.

Another factor is some daddy’s want their kids to be Bad*sses more-so than good coachable teamates.

Ping Pong is pretty cool though, you have to admit.

I heard one of the Richlands coaches tested positive yesterday. Anyone know what the protocol would be in that situation? Will they still play?

Health Department will do contact tracing and determine if anybody needs to quarantine.  Doubtful any of the players are placed on quarantine, unless they were in close contact for more than 15 minutes at a time (within 6 feet).

I’ve seen more than one principal or AD go onto a field to try and stop a fight. Y’all are seriously making a mountain out of a mole hill. Guy went out to check on his son who was on the ground hurt — and then tried to keep the peace during what was about to be a brawl.
