Region D Tonight: Union plays Marion.  Graham plays Va High.

In Region A last night,

1 seed John Marshall (18-4) clobbered 4 seed Thomas Jefferson (10-7) by 27 points.

2 seed Greensville County (13-1) clobbered 3 seed Nottoway (15-2) 58-39.   JM and Greensville advance to state and play the Region A title game tomorrow night.

In Region C

Last night, Radford (17-4) beat Martinsville (12-10) by a score of 50-39.

James River (20-3) beat Floyd County (11-13) 74-40.  James River and Radford advance to state and play tomorrow night for the Region C title.

In Region B

They are still down to 4 teams left just like Region D is, and they play their 2 games tonight just like Region D

East Rockingham (22-4) plays Madison County (13-12)

Central Woodstock (19-7) plays Buckingham County (14-7)

Two Games that will be fun in the first round (if it works out this way) of the State Tournament and Games I really want to see are.........

1.  Union vs Radford

2.  Greensville County vs East Rockingham

Guess who rises to the occasion? Radford stuns James River 41-40 and wins the region. For all the talk about JR and how dominant they have been, Radford finds a way.  If you are a Union fan, you don't want that score imo. Union beat Radford last year and the matchup is more favorable with Radford than it is James River.  James River will likely be coming to Big Stone Gap next week to battle the Bears.

and Radford didn't have their leading scorer.  River didn't substitute and it caught up to them.  They will be rested and motivated for Region D opponent.  JR starting 5 is really really good.

Has JR faced a defense as smothering as Union all year?

I respectfully disagree Bandana. Raddy will be favored to beat VH.  Union has to beat JR and Raddy regardless to advance to state title. If I'm Union, I would rather have James River at home and Radford away compared to Raddy at home and JR away.

Region B Title, Central Woodstock stuns East Rockingham 73-70, and for that loss, East Rockingham will earn a quick exit in the first round of the state playoffs as they will travel to Richmond to play John Marshall.

Final 8

John Marshall hosts East Rockingham

Central Woodstock hosts Greensville County

Union hosts James River

Radford hosts Virginia High
