sixcat 2,919 Report Share Posted June 2, 2022 Galax soccer had a dismal regular season by its own standards finishing 3rd in the MED. They did, however, win the Region C crown last night over Auburn 1-0. I believe this is something like 16 times in 20 seasons Galax has advanced to the state tournament in soccer, winning 5 state titles. Carroll County softball lost to Cave Spring last night 4-0. Grayson County defeated Auburn 3-2 to win the Region C baseball crown. If anyone wants to see a future ACC player in action, check out Grayson County. Pioneer 69 Report Share Posted June 4, 2022 Shout out to Chilhowie baseball for a solid upset against Lebanon yesterday. Pioneers, I know you're disappointed in the way you played yesterday, but it's not over. Sometimes it takes bitter loses to learn valuable lessons. Yesterday was one of those lessons. To win a state championship you have to take every team seriously whether you've dominated them all season or not. With no seniors and mostly Juniors, sophomores and a couple freshmen on the team, it will take everyone stepping up and learning from successes and failures in order to reach the ultimate goal. Learn from that loss and go get Grayson. You rebounded from a bad loss early in the season to Richlands to win 19 in a row, now do the same and get 3 more wins and the title is yours. Win or lose play hard, do your best and leave everything on that diamond. Keep fighting and know you make all Pioneer fans out there proud. Go Red!!!
