rvtne216 278 Report Share Posted November 10, 2022 This really is sad news. Those Council teams in the late 90s and early 2000s were incredible. The community pride that the Council area has for the Cobras basketball team is remarkable. I attended a game a few years back when the Cobras were struggling to compile a couple wins together. However, the stands were packed in comparison to some schools big time playoff games. I am hoping this is a brief hiatus and that Council is soon able to return to the hardwood. Elder statesman 20 Report Share Posted November 11, 2022 That is hard to believe. Many great memories watching one of the smallest schools in the state dominating in basketball for almost 10 years. I remember watching them upset Mt. Zion and give Oak Hill a huge scare at Va High tournament in the 90's.
