I wonder how tough it will be for that Auburn position to be filled.  My guess is that it will definitely be someone new to a Head Coaching position and somewhat local to the area in order to not have to make a move, because he is fully aware of what just happened and the Non-football emphasis.  It's a circular thing.  The program is very down with little emphasis on pigskin, it doesn't do well, games get cancelled, the coach leaves, and so the odds of at least having to take what may be considered a "gamble" on the New Coach is all you can get to come there.  Hopefully though, whoever they get surprises.  It gets back to that organizational leadership kind of thing.  If you don't have "buy in" from the top of the organizational culture, it's very difficult to change that culture from below.  The new coach has his hands absolutely full.

Wonder if our AD would take it? Lol

It looks like they have a really competitive County with the other schools there. Hard to believe a school that good at basketball and track can’t field a good team

Another factor with Auburn is that the Riner area has become progressively more upper middle class over the past decade or two. While some of its attendance zone has always been rural, there are a lot of newer $300k-plus homes there and the vast majority are within a mile or two of the school. That’s an advantage a lot of smaller schools (like county rival Eastern Montgomery) do not have.

It could be a great place, sounds like!  How good were the JV and middle school teams?

They haven't had a MS or JV team for a number of years. They dropped the last 6 or so games of the varsity season last year and played the final 3 games as a JV team, considering their roster was 90% JV age. Which is why a lot of people were upset with them. They knew the age of the roster well ahead of the start of the season. Coupled with the issues they have had over the past several years finishing a season, they should have played a JV schedule all season.
