Lee High knocks off Richlands, who many thought was the team to beat in the region. Final score 7-1.  Did anybody else play today?

Central/Lebanon and Union/Marion got moved to today.  Lee's bats got hot last night.  Once we scored 5 in the 5th inning, I knew it was over.  Richlands just didn't have the offense this year to win a shootout against a good team

Rife pitched the first 5 and 2/3.  Then Fuller came in for the last inning and 1/3.  Lee tagged Rife for 5 runs and Fuller gave up the last 2.

Great game between Central and Lebanon.  Centrals win 1-0 in 8.  Thought after the double to get things started Lebanon would create force out opportunities by intentionally walking Carter and then Dingus when a base was open.

I knew it was pretty much over after the HR. Richlands had only 1 or 2 hits hit by then. Everything else off the end of the bat as they couldn't stay back on Bledsoe. And they weren't showing after 2 or 3 times through that they could adjust to the slower speed and rhythm. Just went cold at the wrong time. Had a bad feeling in the 4th or 5th when Lee starting timing up Rife. Lee had a great game. Just gotta tip my hat to them and move on. Cuz this one stings

Battle, Central, Lee, and Marion in the semifinals.

John Battle vs. Wise Central in the finals.

John Battle knocked out Marion 3-0.  Was kind of keeping up with Marion as I went to high school at Haysi with the Ferland girls' parents.  Wise Central won a slugfest over Lee High 11-9.  Eight home runs were hit in the game.

Region 1D is the expected Cumberland District final between Eastside and Rye Cove.  This is the fifth meeting this season between the teams with Eastside currently leading the series 3-1.
