tornado99
Who are the players or teams to watch out for and surprising players stepping up this season? The obvious ones that I am aware of include: 1. Reece-Lebanon 2. Musicks QB and WR-Honaker 3. Creasy-Tazewell 4. O’quinn-Ridgeview 5. Chandler-Union 6. Lester-Grundy With talk of departures, such as Huff and Jennings, I am pretty clueless what to expect this season?
BandanaVTDavis4321
Daniel Jennings, DE (edge) upcoming junior at Princeton (Graham transfer) number 2 ranked junior in the state of WV, number 264th ranked junior in the country, offers from Illinois, Penn State, WVU and several more to follow. Tyler Barrett, P. Henry, 3 star offensive lineman, upcoming senior and an offer from VA Tech. Ethan Lawson, Rye Cove offensive lineman, upcoming sophomore, prepzone 6th ranked sophomore in Virginia, received Eastern Kentucky offer in the 8th grade. Kaden Houseright, upcoming sophomore, Gate City, yep....same family Yubrenal Isabelle, upcoming senior linebacker, Graham The younger Bradshaw, upcoming freshmen at Graham if I'm not mistaken (might not be a freshmen yet), and yep....same family The Rainey Brothers at George Wythe, both upcoming seniors I believe, and will lead a GW football team that has state title game appearance as a reasonable expectation. If Baker would have been utilized properly last year he wouldn't be a surprise this year.
SpillBoss
I would also keep an eye on two Tazewell linemen, Beavers and Taylor. Real Sasquatch

I had thought of Adkins, but have not been aware of the off-season progress and results as in previous years. There are a couple of other Blues that I am hopeful about, but was thinking conservatively.

I'm interested to see who will be the rb for Tazewell myself. They will have a big, talented line returning. I think anybody they put back there could be successful running the ball, if they decide to run more often. I hope they don't rely on Creasy running on designed plays for the QB to run, can't afford to get him hurt. As for Graham, they have many options to choose from. I would think the leading candidates would be Palmer, Fix and Dowell, but that's pure speculation.
BigWinners
Im extremely curious to see what Union offers on the field this year. Bringing in a new QB is always difficult, esp when it involves switching a kid from a position that is now extremely thin with the other loss. I figure this could look a lot more like an old Appalachia team or a 90s PV team, extremely run heavy. At least early until they have faith in the new receiver unit. Defense has to be able to stop the run or theyll be in trouble. The back end was a strength last year but losing potentially 2/3rds of the secondary leaves a huge gap. Need to find inside LBs as well, I think it would be wise to move Chandler inside if possible and let him captain the interior D and find someone a little quicker to slide outside and cover in space. I don't know about O, I've heard QB possibly, but have been told he's going to be a force defensively. I've also been told there's a possibility he may be a one sport Hoops kid, but ai seriously doubt that.

I watched him in a scrimmage and he was very accurate, with a little zip on the ball too. I could see Houseright being a utility player. A little RB on pitches/sweeps, slot, WR, QB for trick plays. S or CB on defense.

1inStripes
I would expect Walker Hillman to get a lot of the touches when it comes to sweeps and etc for GC. Really quick feet. GC will have some diversity in their skill positions I believe.
