Thoughts on this one

I'm giving eastide this one. They are returning a bunch and central is just BAD.

Eastside will be playing pissed off as they haven’t beaten Central since 2013 and will be going for the jugular from the first snap.

I hate this as my sons went to and played at Central, but I'm not sure they win a game:(. If the fans there will shock folks and give Spurlock some time, he'll turn things around, but we know how that goes. Eastside rolls 34-14

I don't know enough about Central to make a comment about them at all, but if they lose this game, it's an 0-10 season for them.

Spurlock has already gotten some the things steered a different direction with influencing our youth league to turn to strictly in house and focusing on the weight room and conditioning. The kids that came out and stayed love him. As you said, if some parents just keep their mouth shut and let him work, he will build a program. Just will take time.

You may be right about 0-10 but Eastside wont be the weakest team on Central schedule this year.

I don't know anything about Marion, but John Battle could be a close game. They lost just about their whole team from last year.

I guess I didn't think about them because it seems like, no matter their record, they always fight hard. Rarely see them just roll over.

Central wins. I just don't seem to hardly ever see a Class 1D school beating a Class 2D school. I have no idea why. Are the 1D schools treating 2D schools mentally like they are Hampton High? Damndest thing I've seen, even when it appears the Class 1D school seems like it should win or be favored, it seemingly 8 to 9 out of 10 times finds a way to....not win.

Eastside has been knocking on the door the past few seasons and might have established their new standards,  which this year will put them in for position to beat central and determine several Nov match-ups.

Wasn’t good vs Union on either side of the ball but Union was just too big for them to deal with.  They should fare much better when they play schools their size

Cant really call this one but I think it will be a blow out either way who ever starts scoring wont stop and since everyone else but one taking Eastside give me Central.

Central parents have a rich history of not winning championships in football.  They beat Powell valley once in the 90s so coaches should listeh

Eastside returns a lot of talent and central doesn’t have much on their team. With the coaching changes, central being one of the worst teams in 2a, and eastside motivated to get a big 2a win over a county opponent. I believe the Spartans take this one. 27-20
