It was excuse after excuse as to why Graham let VHS hang with them. Both teams were dealing with the same weather and power outages, and Bristol being further south was most likely hit harder than Bluefield. So I'm not buying that one. That being said, Don't let VHS record of 2-3, fool you. They are battle tested with loses to 3 solid to excellent teams in Radford, Ridgeview, and Graham. This Va High team if they are able to beat Tazewell may run the table on the rest of their schedule. The rest of the games including Tazewell are winnable. I don't see Grundy beating Rye Cove or Eastside in 1D. Grundy was able to run the ball consistently against Tazewell. Virginia high will do the same but with more explosive athletes. Burkes is going to have a big game in this one. VHS 28 Tazewell 21 Bulldogs52 and bulldog05-CO2017 2 Quote
GilesBandanaMan Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 Going to be a heck of football game and too close to call in my opinion. I lean to the Dogs by 7 pts Quote
UnionGuy2017 Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 It’ll be tight but I think I lean Va High by the slightest of margins. Quote
SwvaOG Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 This is a very underrated game right here. If not for RV-Union, this would be the best matchup this week. To me it’s a toss up, VH has already played a passing offense in RV and fared fairly well. That will definitely help the VHS defenders. I’m going with the home team. Quote
Real Sasquatch Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 The Bulldogs gave up nearly 400 yards in rushing against Grundy. V High has a good running back and a QB that can run also. I'm pulling for the Bulldogs, but this will be a tough matchup for them. Quote

Prime example is the kickoff that stopped at the 1 yd line and the Grundy player finally ran after it retreated into the end zone and was tackled for a safety. The refs blew the play as a touchback without the ball ever breaking the plane. The best they came up with was a rekick which was a terrible horrible call. Plenty of other things as well. We overcame that and still won so that's what matters. But in all games I've ever been to I've never seen one that bad. Quote

Mountain Football Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 Has anyone checked on UvaO to see if he can talk today? After that interception my Logan last night it sounded like his voice was done.😂 Real Sasquatch 1 Quote

Why don’t you read the threads, it’s been explained 3 times, or watch the game on NFHS, it’s clear as day. Stevie Wonder could’ve seen it. No one is crying, it was terrible officiating. Quote

Im kidding, I’m happy to see Lebanon do decent. I love watching lebanons qb and rb. But let’s be real, that’s about like saying Texas is good based off of who they played. Quote

EH31 Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 1 hour ago, honestjohn said: I haven't seen anywhere it has been explain, simple explain it. The referee’s explanation was that he thought the 5 yard line was the goal line, so when it passed the 5 yard line he blew it as a touchback. The whistle barely blew though, probably because he realized he made a mistake, so half of the players stopped playing and half kept playing. By not being assertive in his whistle he ended up getting the Grundy player unfairly smacked by two tacklers in the end zone. An injury timeout on that play allowed the referees time to decide on what they were going to do since it was an inadvertent whistle. They decided on a re-kick. 1inStripes and olewave 2 Quote

I get that, but if he can’t do any better he needs to find a new profession. Cause he made a terrible call, and could have got a kid seriously hurt. Quote

VHS 28 Tazewell 21 No excuse from Graham fan here, Va. high stood toe to toe with Graham , then as usual size, strength and adjustments took over, same as union game. I thought they did a great job Quote
