Here is my M7 Prediction for the Boys:

1) Central

2) Abingdon

3) Gate City

4) Union

5) Ridgeview

6) Battle

7) Lee

I can see either Abingdon or Central taking the boys.  As for the girls, Central is the favorite until they are taken down, but I could easily see Ridgeview or Abingdon walking away with the district title.

I wonder if a lot of the Ridgeview volleyball players play basketball as well.  The volleyball success could translate to hoops as well.  They very well may win state in volleyball this year.

Isn’t volleyball like basketball in the area where the winner from the region usually wins state???

Some of them do.  Ridgeview is good in volleyball, but I don't know if they are state champion good

Beating Tennessee High was very impressive to me.  Other than Science Hill, there wasn't a better team in upper east Tennessee this year.

I agree, that was an impressive win for them.  They lost a tough one to Abingdon last night though

Carpenter is the only one that I have heard from credible sources.  I have heard talk about some that had played some travel ball together possibly trying to come over.

If John Marshall can do it and you can’t beat them then join them.  VHSL has proven they won’t say one damn thing about it. 
For anyone who wants to go to a good school and be a part of a future state championship program come on over to Gate City.  
We will have the best of Southwest Virginia take on Richmond. 
We have first class facilities. Weightroom, locker room as anyone can tell you. 
Sit in one of the lockers of former D1 players: Mac McClung, Zac Ervin, Bradley Dean. 

Hell yeah come on over.  We will build the biggest and best of the best from Southwest Virginia here in this raucous gymnasium on game nights and roll into Richmond ready to win the state final.  

And like I said. VHSL can’t and won’t do a thing about it.  They don’t to Marshall and they won’t to us.

Gate City might very well be the team to beat but Ollie Carpenter is still a bearcat, but it doesn't mean GC didn't get other transfers

Are there issues at Virginia High that would warrant players transferring out?

Not sure if it's related to Carpenter but there was talk about clashing personalities with both players and administration.

Man i was wrong i told you Ollie was still a Bearcat, nope he did transfer to GC i heard he didn't like the head coach at Va High
