Unchained
I just don't see Richlands beating anyone this season. I'd love to be wrong, but 28-21 Galax. cityofRaven

I saw or heard it somewhere. Either way, I’m happy for those kids. The ones who have stuck with it through such adversity definitely deserve this win. I’d say they get #2 next week. GilesBandanaMan
Sometimes, a team just needs a win to hit the ignition switch which starts the turning point. All of a sudden one win is the starting point to change the culture. I'm not saying the win tonight for Richlands is that start of the turning point, but it possibly could be. It doesn't matter how down the opponent is. Just the mentality of winning/having a win can possibly flip that switch. Congrats Blues old_school_blue
tornado99
It was really good to see those kids and coaches celebrating last night. You could see how happy and relieved they were and were soaking up the moment. Winning was something we had taken for granted for so long. Hopefully, this is the beginning of something special. I don’t mean, we’re back. It just does something for a person to have some rewards for their work to build on success. Belief is a power motivator. I know some of those kids will remember the hard times, and have a bright future because of what they endured and have the opportunity to overcome. Watching Galax was a humbling experience to see how quickly you can go from top to bottom. Good luck to the Tide the remainder of the way. Congratulations to the coaching staff for staying the course despite setbacks. cityofRaven, mriguy74, rvtne216 and 2 others 4

I am a huge follower of the Loris Lions now, but my heart is and will always be "blue Tornado strong." 99 wrote it so well, so there isn't anything I could add. It expresses everything I could have said. tornado99

Highly likely. Not-so-fun fact about Marion's football team this year, according to FourSeasonsFootball, Marion is losing every game this year by an average margin of of 30.9 points. That's the highest average margin of defeat for Marion since 1923, which is a skewed number because for some ill-advised reason, Marion (who was playing their second season of football) scheduled Dobyns-Bennett that year and lost 94-0. If you take that outlier score out of the equation, it's the worst average margin of defeat for a season in school history. No matter how you draw it up, thus far this is statistically the worst season of football that Marion has played since the Coolidge administration. rvtne216
