Lance Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 So is it East or West this year? I assume that’s still how they are doing it, flip flop every year right? Quote
Union_Fan Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 C winner vs D winner A winner vs B winner Team with the highest PP rating hosts. No clue what they'll do next year. Quote
Lance Posted November 5 Author Report Posted November 5 Back to points? I know at one time they were alternating. What are they going to calculate points from the final regular season total? just trying to figure out if Abingdon stays the #1 seed how long we can play at home if we keep winning. Quote

If they keep winning, they can stay at home until the Region championship game. Looks like they won't outpoint LCA, so they would need to travel for the semis. Yes, the final regular season rating determines seeding/home field. No more points to be gained through playoffs. Quote
Liam McPoyle Posted November 5 Report Posted November 5 Speaking of Class 3 and home-field advantage, I found this interesting. Since Liberty Christian began playing in the VHSL, the school has played a total of 19 playoff games. 17 of those 19 games have been played in the City of Lynchburg. Source: fourseasonsfootball.com 2018 (1 game)-at Blacksburg 2019 (2 games)-at LU, at Heritage-Lynchburg 2021 (Spring) (3 games) at Brookville, at LU, at Lord Botetourt 2021 (Fall) (5 games) All at LU including the state title game 2022-(3 games) All at LU 2023-(5 games) Four games at LCA's new stadium and the state title game at LU Quote

Abingdon will have home field advantage throughout the Region 3D finals, assuming they beat Lee on Friday. Bassett is most likely the first round opponent. 4 or 5 teams are capable of winning the regional title. LCA is another matter for the Region 3D winner. Quote
