Gridiron60 Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 Slobber knocker on deck…should be a good one, battle of the defenses! Quote
Real Sasquatch Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 It's a week away, but forecast is calling for a high of 24 next Saturday. I hope that it's a little warmer then that. Mountain Football 1 Quote
SWVAgridiron Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 Looking forward to making the trip to Bluefield for this one. Since the first meeting it seems like Graham has gotten better(except for penalties) and Union has slightly declined. But with these 2 teams it really doesn’t matter because they’re gonna get each other’s best shot. Someone tell the U to bring their train horn. We can have a little battle and see who’s louder. JDHoss Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 By the end of the game in Delray Beach last night, the temperature had plummeted to 64 and my teeth were chattering. Next Saturday in Bluefield should be interesting for me. 🤔 Quote
Graham32 Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 I’ve always heard over the years it’s hard to beat a good team twice. This one should be a dandy. Quote
tornado99 Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 (edited) Reading the stats, I’m assuming Graham decided to go with what works, Lilly running from the QB position running with an extra blocker, instead of getting fancy against the Bearcats. This should be a great game because Union is the only team that matches Graham physically. However, I’m going with Graham because I believe they have found their identity. That said, while running backs and quarterback runs dominate the game, I wouldn’t be surprised if a Graham receiver makes the deciding plays or simply the kicker again. jeffro Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 this week was Lilly and the running game as the primary weapon, last week it was Graham and Edwards in the passing game. They definitely are peaking at the right time and each week look better and better offensively. The constant is the defense. These guys play like someone stole their money. State Champion caliber Ill go out on a limb and say the D will have their way yet again Graham 28 Union 7 Graham32 1 Quote

I am going with Union to continue the trend and wining at Graham 14-13 Quote
S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 Don't think either will run away with it. Close score, less than 6 points to decide it. Quote
Vol Hater Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 Well i got to keep the theme going I've picked against the bears 2 weeks in a row and they keep on feeding me crow. So with that said Graham 35 Union 14. And yes Graham can and will score that much because bunch won't play again and bostic can only cover 1 side of the field and we all seen last night who ridgeview picked on. jeffro 1 Quote

Playing Graham without Bunch is much different that playing RV without him. That RV QB and his receivers are better than Graham's. If you gave me the choice for him to miss a game vs RV or Graham, I'd choose Graham in a heartbeat. Graham32 and GMan 1 1 Quote

Wolf1207 Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 I’ll say this Union emptied the luck bank last night to win. I’ve never seen so many bounces of the ball go one team’s way (not named the Chiefs) in a game. Quote

Really like the phantom PI call that an NFL WR wouldn't catch, the illegal procedure flag that wasn't, the hitting the kicker ? Be careful with that. The refs were very bad to us. If we were "lucky" we'll call it balancing out the hosing the stripes were giving us 🙂 Quote

That type of PI is called at all levels. I thought it was a bad call but not the first time I’ve seen it. The missed punter call was bad, and the missed false start was kind of comical. They still would’ve scored on the false start p, but I get your point. I just mean every fumble Union had bounced right back to them. Especially on that last Union score. I’m not saying Union didn’t deserve the win, they did. The RV defense played good enough to win the game. The offense had way too many mistakes and the turnovers killed them. S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 Could've been worse, watched the Abingdon game. Commissioner called that one, waived off some questionable calls, impacted the game. Don't think the crew last night at bsg were watching the same game as everyone else. Graham/ Union will be a good one. Hope it's a good crew of officials. Quote
breckt Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 Union and Glenvar are tied in the VHSL rating scale. If both win next week, who would host the semifinal? Quote
