Gridiron60 Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 I don’t know much about current Glenvar team other than they have a rich football tradition and their QB is a playmaker. I’m not sure if he’s as good as Clark was from Radford last year but Graham will need to stop him in order to prevail. Thoughts from others? Quote
S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 Soft compared to 2D, nickel and dime until defense bites, vertical to keep you honest. Run game average including qb. Defense decent speed to the ball, but still not physical enough. Graham by 3 scores or more controlling the line of scrimmage, again. All barring g-men don't have a flag fest and keep it close. Glenvar still respectable. Gridiron60 1 Quote
Real Sasquatch Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 At this point in the season, anybody can win the title. Glenvar looks dangerous and can put up points in a hurry. Strasburg and Poquoson look very strong. Graham is right there with all 3. I don't think Glenvar has played a team as Physical as Graham, but one thing is for sure, the other 3 teams left have put up some big numbers. Gridiron60 1 Quote

S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 Strasburg to me looks as physical as anyone on both sides of the ball. They mix it up enough to make a defense honest. Poq still not decided, but they're region champs for a reason. Region A not as strong as a whole, but still they're playing in December. Gridiron60 1 Quote

jeffro Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 Glenvar hasn't went against a Defense like Grahams, most teams can't compensate for the rush. Wonder if Glenvar has the size and strength to do so. Grahams D backs are outstanding. im going out on a limb and say Grahams D will be too much Graham 24- Glenvar-14 S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE and Real Sasquatch 2 Quote

I just hope the GMen can win whether it’s one point when the clock hits 00:00 or more than that. jeffro and Real Sasquatch 2 Quote
UnionGuy2017 Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 Graham wins going away. Hill and Co. on the defensive line are elite. Quote

Glenvar has a high scoring offense, but hasn't played a defense like Graham's. Graham has the speed and athletes in the secondary to counter Glenvar's passing game. Glenvar's QB is good, but he will be under tremendous pressure all day long. Graham by 2 scores. Quote
Real Sasquatch Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 Graham vs. Glenvar will be at Mitchell Stadium on Saturday, December 7th at 2:00 p.m. Forecast once again calling for cold. Quote
Union_Fan Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 From the very small amount of film I've watched of Glenvar, the QB is legit. He's tall and is built like the stereotypical pocket passing QB. Strong, accurate arm. WRs run good routes. That's it. He doesn't appear to be a rushing threat. Glenvar doesn't seem to have much of a running game. I don't see them scoring many points on Graham. So, can Graham's offense score enough points to win the game? They may only need 1 or 2 TDs. Quote
Graham-VT Fan Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 One thing I noticed about Glenvar watching them for a little while on Friday night is that they do have a very good kicking game in addition to their passing game. Close game could come down to the kickers (and Graham has a good kicker too). Quote

Graham’s kickers play soccer too and are pretty good there as well. Should be a great showdown … offensive vs defensive battle & perhaps special teams shootout. We’ll see come Saturday which team comes to play & win! Quote
jeffro Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 Ill guess we'll see if the ol' saying stands " Offense wins games- Defense wins Championships -3 high powered Offenses left and 1 high flying Defense Go Graham! Graham32, Real Sasquatch and Gridiron60 3 Quote
Graham32 Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 Grahams secondary will be the focus this week. They have faced a lot of good quarterbacks to this point but nothing like what Glenvar has. If they can buy enough time for the front to get pressure they can win. If not it could be a long day. Offensively Graham needs to pound the rock. Wear them out, take some shots down the field. Roberts is coming into his own. The way he’s been moving out of the pocket in some situations keeping his eyes down the field will only give them more options. Gridiron60 1 Quote
Fairlawncat Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 Graham by 2 TDs. The team Graham played yesterday is much better on the line of scrimmage on the offensive and defensive side. Graham will live in the Glenvar backfield and the QB under major duress. Graham will also move the ball on the ground better than what they did against Union. Real Sasquatch 1 Quote
SWVAgridiron Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 G-Men win 28-14. Glenvar will get a few TDs due to how well they air it out but with not having much of a run game, it won’t be enough for Graham. The G-Men should be able to utilize the ground and pound and wear out the Highlanders. Quote
Unchained Posted December 1, 2024 Report Posted December 1, 2024 That Graham defense may very will propel them to a state title. As impressive a unit as I have seen in several years. 21-7 Graham. Graham32 and Real Sasquatch 2 Quote
SXSW Posted December 2, 2024 Report Posted December 2, 2024 I am riding the G-Man train until it derails...they know how to win in December! G-Men 28-7 over Glenvar! Quote
Tru Blue72 Posted December 2, 2024 Report Posted December 2, 2024 If Graham can avoid penalties and play ball control, keeping Glenvar's offense off the field, it won't be close. I think Graham wins by 2-td's or more. Quote
jeffro Posted December 2, 2024 Report Posted December 2, 2024 I bet if there's a message board for their area they are all saying Glenvar thumps Graham just as most of us are predicting a Graham win. 😆 wdr31 and Gridiron60 2 Quote

Fingers crossed though! Their QB is very good from what I’ve seen but GMen have played against some really QBs this year. Glenvar will need to get rid of the ball quickly. If their O-Line lets GMen break through, could be a long day for him. He can throw as well as any I’ve seen but looks to have average speed. Should be a very interesting match up with their offense & Graham’s defense. If GMen’s defense plays lights out & their offense can manage a couple scores, Graham may end up in Salem. They say defense wins championships but offense has to put some points on the board. As far as Graham’s offense, I think the Roberts’ kid has improved vastly in his decision making and looking for open receivers. Lilly taking direct snap can be lethal against a weak D line. Graham doesn’t have a Ty Drez this year but they may have enough variety on offense to help them beat Glenvar. We’ll see come Saturday. Graham32 1 Quote
