I have watched several local games here in SW Virginia on NFHS, and it is a BLESSING.  With all the down side of covid, this was a good thing to evolve from that time. This year,  I've watched Honaker, Graham, the Blues (of course), Tazewell, Rye Cove, Grundy, Patrick Henry, Holston, but never got to see the Loris Lions games on video, only the audio.  Needless to say, it isn't the same.  You are getting the perspective  from what they say, not what is visual.   The other day, I googled Hudl to see if there were any videos of the Lions game.  Yahoo, there were!!!!

There are 2 links I am going to post on the Lions.  Why you ask, they aren't SW Virginia football.  That is true, but football season is winding down here and for us "football junkies" there may be those who may enjoy the read and watch the video.   Coach Mance was an integral part of SW football here for 3 decades and a native of the area.  A Giles Bandana man winning a state championship with them as a player, a state championship  with the Richlands Blues, and hopefully in this 5th season as a coach of the Loris Lions a state championship.   As far as I'm concerned his accomplishments speak for themselves.

Loris football season ends to Oceanside | Sports | myhorrynews.com

I watched the game last night on You tube.  Loris went up against a power house private school.  Oceanside's QB was very accurate, where ever he through the ball.  Long balls, over the middle, on target.  I don't think it would have affected the outcome of OCA winning the game, but Loris was playing without their star RB #3, Deuce Stephens.  He was out with a cracked vertebrae.  The Lions finished their season at 11-2.  A first for them in beating Dillon, first time they had been beyond the 2nd round in the playoffs.  It wasn't the outcome Loris fans had hoped for, but it was a great year for the Lions.

Anyone think Mande might take a swing at a small college job down there, or is he at his retirement school?
Just seems like the guy is successful anywhere he goes.
