Stanley steps down at RV

Just saw on Twitter that Dewayne Stanley has stepped down as the football coach at Ridgview.

I’m not sure who (if anyone) is in line to replace him.

If SWVAOG isn't available, I say call Colley out of the Friday Night Rivals booth or his son... wherever he may be these days.  Last I heard, he was at Pulaski County I think.

Will be interesting.  Shouldn't be hard to fill.  They've been fairly successful for the most part.  Sniffed a couple region titles. Holding out for one to bring back the I formation and play physical again.

He has proven that he can coach. He's been very successful at one of the smaller schools in the state.

I wonder how much of that was the best athletes at Gate City were basketball only?

I must admit, this is surprising.

I'd love to see what Colley would do with this team, but that's probably a long shot.

This is a school that with the right class of athletes can win you a state title. They do need someone who isn’t in it for the money because that won’t really be there.

They need someone who can step in and control the youth leagues and middle and jv teams. Keep the parents at an arms distance (easier said than done). 
 

Honestly, I think Kent Grant should hire himself as head coach. Then he can find and develop a couple of coordinators for the future.  This is not a rebuild, but the program needs some polishing and a better strength and conditioning program (which I’ve heard is being fixed).
