TnT+h Posted February 12, 2025 Report Posted February 12, 2025 Good place to live , great facilities and a lot of big kids. Could be a sleeping giant! Quote
PV8 Posted February 13, 2025 Report Posted February 13, 2025 I'm sure they have hired a great coach, but Paul White would have been an excellent hire. Quote
GMan Posted February 15, 2025 Report Posted February 15, 2025 Truth is, no one wants to be head football coach at Tazewell, they'll have too many bosses to answer to. Bulldogs52, olewave, jeffro and 6 others 7 1 1 Quote

Gridiron60 Posted March 11, 2025 Report Posted March 11, 2025 Very good hire! The million dollar question is does he keep current assistants in their current roles? I believe two of them were interested in the HC position. Quote
stu_bean Posted March 11, 2025 Report Posted March 11, 2025 My big question is does he stick with the run game like he has there or is he open to an actual passing attack as well? Quote
Blue_Crue Posted March 11, 2025 Report Posted March 11, 2025 If I'm Tazewell, I hope he runs the ball. You all have been pass happy and have not won a playoff game. I love ESPN, NFL, and College Football but this area kills me with PASS HAPPINESS. You are in a region where the climate is cold and wet come playoff time. You look at the teams who play for and win state championship in 1A and 2A they are not Air Raid. They are teams that control the line of scrimmage and can run the ball. Graham threw the ball in championship game because they found a weakness. But they got there because they ran the ball and played unbelievable defense. This region and its climate is cold. There are no domes or indoor fields where games are played. When the State Championship and playoff games are played its probably going to be wet and its going to get cold. Save the passing for NCAA teams and the NFL. I would want to WIN!!! If you have to run the ball 90% and you win WHO CARES!!!! WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN Wildcat/Chanticleer 1 Quote

This says he coached under Tiller which made me wonder if Honaker has hired a head coach. I know Lowe was interim for the rest of last season. I figured he’d just get appointed because I doubt many were knocking down the door to get that job. No offense Tiger fans. Quote
1inStripes Posted March 11, 2025 Report Posted March 11, 2025 I believe the interim tag was removed last month. Cousin_Hoyt and Gridiron60 1 1 Quote

There was an article the other day in the Bristol paper that said that interim tag was removed. His kid is gonna be the next 4 year starter 10,000 yard passer in SWVA. I was very impressed with him from what I saw last year as an 8th grader Gridiron60 1 Quote
