BBHoops_18 Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 If not for JM, Graham could've been state champions in football and basketball. Quote
BlueDevil4Life2008 Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 It is easy to see that the Southwest District might have had back to back state champs in Class 2 after watching the state finals the past two years. But we will never know. What I do know is that the Graham and Bluefield community should be extremely proud of this ball team. They definitely fought in a way like I had never seen from them this year. Coach Baker did a great job with them and wouldn’t be surprised to see them back again if they compete like that. Just me but I would give these guys a police escort back home simply for the battle they put up tonight. Because they not only represented Bluefied and Southwest Virginia with that fight…. But every single Class 2 school that doesn’t recruit out of state players or have financial resources that Team Loaded does. The commentators were amazed at how these guys came into the season late from football and then went directly to basketball and went to the state finals. Dude. Welcome to the life of a Class 2 school. It’s not the lawmakers that are out of touch with Southwest Virginia. It’s the VHSL and everyone else in the state. tbgfan Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 Just as I said WOW!!!! WOW!!! with the play of the Central Lady Warriors. It is ditto here for the G-men team. They aren't the official champions, but they played with a champion's heart. Not giving up. I didn't think my b/p could hold out the entire game, but these boys proved me wrong. Tonight David faced Goliath. In the Biblical story, David took the giant down. In this story, David let the giant know your in for a fight. Congrats to these boys. What an amazing game to watch. Gridiron60 Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 I’m more adamant than ever after seeing the GMen give it their all tonight, that the “Self Declared State Champions” title still stands! gwloyal 1 Quote
SwvaOG Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 The irony is that Graham fans are mad about a coach recruiting players and bringing them in from other schools. I mean....a bit of self-reflection? 😜 That being said, VHSL has to do something about John Marshall. At least the G-Men are relegated to two states and 3-4 county recruiting footprint.
