Like county mayors in Tennessee. Every county around here seems to have a level of incompetence on these boards that is breath taking. Gridiron60 and redtiger 2 Quote

Real Sasquatch Posted July 3, 2025 Report Posted July 3, 2025 What did they do with the bleachers they took out at THS last season? Also didn't Richlands also get new bleachers (I heard they were supposed to, not sure if they ever got them). Are those still around or have they been disposed of? Quote

The sooner they get the lights installed, the better. They have locker rooms in the field house and in the gym, once the lights go up, all that will be needed is a place to sit...lol. Maybe some more generous donors will step up, like Hitachi Energy has. They have really supported the surrounding community. Those benches they donated area really nice too. Liam McPoyle Posted July 9, 2025 Report Posted July 9, 2025 I don't think "scoreboard" is appropriate terminology for the "Outdoor Learning Facility for all GHS students." What about "Universal Student Achievement Tracking Display"? EH31, Graham32, Real Sasquatch and 3 others 4 2 Quote

Real Sasquatch Posted July 26, 2025 Report Posted July 26, 2025 I've been hearing of this for a couple of years now, that there will be a K-7 school built in each Richlands, Tazewell and Bluefield and the existing Middle Schools will be turned into 8-12 High Schools, and the primary and elementary schools will be consolidated, leaving 2 schools in all 3 towns. (K-7 and an 8-12). Obviously the vocational center as well. I predict in 10 to 15 years, Graham High School will be a parking lot for a football stadium with the basketball gyms and Field House (my opinion only). In the meantime, hopefully they will get lights and seating and put the other pieces for a nice stadium in place in the next few years. I believe big changes are coming to Tazewell County in the not too distant future, IF the tax revenue comes in as predicted. This article confirms a lot of what I head heard. I hope this comes to fruition, for all three localities. It would also keep all 3 high schools and not consolidate them into 1 or 2, which I think would be great. There has been some good news for Tazewell County lately with the meat processing plant and the fish farm still moving forward (although at a snail's pace), now Coronado Coal expanding it's operations so, that's something we can all be optimistic about. Link to the article is below.
