Point I'm making is, the take by Poquoson and Strasburg is that if one team in the state tournament can move a game up to give you a position for resting an ace, then all teams should be able to.  So, all 4 teams in the west (2 games) should be able to do the same. Buckingham, from what I read on twitter, was the first to move their game to tomorrow.

Seeing in softball Lee is getting beat and wise looks to run rule Chatham. Curious to know if Lee is getting by with 30+ secs a pitch and taking the sign behind the rubber. I know lack of offense and defense will show this time of year. Also, Eastside run ruled George wythe. Region C looked to be pretty weak this year overall.

2-0 final appo won. Phillips threw a 67 pitch 3 hit 0 walk gem and couldnt get the win to cap off of the most successful high school careers ever in our area, think he’s gave up 8 runs in 6 state tournament games, including two no hitters with 1 being in the 2023 state title game. Most Lebanon teams would be able to win a state quarterfinal game only giving up 2 runs. Appo pitcher was probably hitting 76 and they just flat out couldn’t hit. I’ll still take the worst post-covid pioneers team making the state tourney in a very very down year. Onto hoops season Leb has some very talented underclassmen coming up to help one of the best hoops players in swva.

I was hoping the Pioneers would win.  2-0 isn't a drubbing in a quarter-final game.  Congrats to the Pioneers in a strong showing.

In softball, Central beat Chatham 11-1 in 5 innings, Appomattox defeated Lee 7-3, Turner Ashby defeated Abingdon 4-3, and Auburn over Burton 8-0.

KW doesn’t swing it the best but they will have a dude on the mound throwing 90 who has some command issues at times. Hill is the probable starter for battle which is not a bad matchup considering how KW performed against Barton last year in the semis. I’m going to go with 4-2 Battle

Tough loss for Lebanon last night.  68 pitches over 6 innings in a loss is pretty amazing.  Kid had a heckuva career.

KW is not throwing the guy who throws 90. Already 2-0 battle after 1.

Eastside put a 4 spot on the board in the 2nd.  The eastern side of the state is lacking in 1A softball.  Eastside/Auburn should be a good game tomorrow.  Eastside with elite pitching and Auburn with a top notch offense.  3 of the 4 teams in the state were in the Cumberland this year I believe. 7 of the top 10 were in Region D.  Possibly more.
