Football is Cool Posted June 16 Report Posted June 16 Getting close to the start of the year. Reminiscing on some of the games I watched last year My pick would be Union Graham Pt1. Can’t beat a defensive game between two powerhouses. 2. Abingdon/RV 3. Rye Cove/chilhowie 4. Eastside/ Wise Central 5. Tazewell/Grundy Quote
Liam McPoyle Posted June 16 Report Posted June 16 The War Eagles need their own category. Rye Cove/ Chilhowie Rye Cove/Eastside Rye Cove/Grayson Co Quote

Playoff game was much more competitive. Quote
tornado99 Posted June 16 Report Posted June 16 Add Tazewell-Lebanon? Wasn’t that high scoring affair decided in OT? Jags52 1 Quote

jeffro Posted June 17 Report Posted June 17 Graham vs Union 7-6. Graham had 4 or 5 tries to score XP due to Union penalties at end of game Quote

Glenvar QB is exceptional but Graham defense gave him all he could handle. It was more what a championship should be than the actual championship. Mountain Football 1 Quote
JDHoss Posted June 18 Report Posted June 18 Not SWVA, but.... Venice 48 Miami Northwestern 42 in OT Two of the three best teams in the entire state, and both went on to win titles in 7A and 3A. Both were loaded with size and speed, but in this back and forth affair, the star was the kicker from Venice who hit from 53 in the first half, and nailed one from 44 as time expired to send the game to OT. I believe he signed with USF or UCF. Big crowd and good atmosphere too. Glades Central 23 Pahokee 16 in OT The Muck Bowl lived up to it's legendary status. Large crowd that had the feel of a big PV - Appy game between schools only a few miles apart. Glades Central took the lead in OT and stopped Pahokee at the goal line on their possession. EH31 1 Quote
