Yeah, this is not good for Graham.  I would say there is a goodnchance that Galax cancels their season.

Didn’t someone say they barely had enough to even field a team? I would imagine that Glenvar game put a hurting on them physically and mentally.

They also have Northside on the schedule. They have no business putting them on the schedule. Hopefully this is the last year Graham has them on the schedule. There’s a lot of teams I want to see them play. I wish they would get Independence in WV on there. I know they have a hard time finding opponents.

I didn't think renewing this game was a good idea when I saw them on Graham's schedule again.

Given Galax's season last year, this would have equated to a glorified scrimmage anyways.

On the bright side, it gives the GMen 2 full weeks to plan for Union.

Graham definitely needs to find another opponent. Don’t know if they can to replace the game this season but absolutely replace Galax next season with a better opponent like an Independence.

I honestly feel like the entire stadium debacle seems like a series of unfortunate events for the GMen. It’s like things are off kilter if that makes sense. Maybe those two weeks can help the offense figure out how to score & those DBs figure out their job, lol! If not, it will be a long Thursday night in Tazewell. 😂

As far as scheduling, not many schools are willing to pick up Graham but they definitely need to drop Galax.

Southern Gap will probably take their place, if I were to guess.

Yeah. Union will bring a lot of physicality and you know they want to beat Graham badly.  Graham had better clean things up or they will get taken to the wood shed.   Hopefully, they will get things together by then, but not playing this Friday doesn't help things.

It's already in the books as a forfeit.

Yeah, can’t replace it if it’s a forfeit and I forgot about Southern Gap. They should end up being a formidable opponent in SWD with Tester at the helm.

Any kind of distraction is still a distraction. I'm sure the kids hear about the field situation from everyone around them. I wouldn't discount big Mike's absence either. Losing that voice and encouragement on the sidelines has to hurt.

I understand the scheduling issues. Union has them too.

For Union and Graham, if you schedule a small school, it doesn't help. Then, larger schools don't want to bother because of distance, afraid they'll get embarrassed or don't see you as competition.

I guarantee that the Union game was one of SH's largest gates last year, but they didn't want to play again.

Galax is beyond pitiful and didnt get a single 1st down against Glenvar even when the pups were in. Frankly it's a health hazard to carry the ball for them and that's not gonna change against Graham, carroll, George wythe or Northside. Their schedule would be a murderous 2a playoff run for any team and they are playing it as a hapless single A school. The ADs at each of these schools but especially Galax should be ashamed for scheduling this. They would have a season if they had the schedule they should. Bland, Montclair, Craig, etc. The victims of these AD decisions are the Galax kids and community....just shameful

Honestly it gives Graham a 2nd bye week to get more healthier. They were going to walk all over Galax anyways.

I guess I missed something along the way, but what caused Galax's numbers to go from a state champ two years ago to not having enough players to field a team.

The Mexicans moved. I'm not saying that to be racist either.

Sadly, this is spot on. Out of the 20 players on the team, 10 of those are freshman. Knowing this, why in the world would you schedule all of these heavyweights? Just doesn't make sense.
