Not saying discipline issues as in personal fouls, many that weren’t called. When u have rv coaches cussing at players and rv players cussing fans / coaches I think of that as a discipline issue, when you have to have 20 cops for the handshake line i consider there being a discipline issue present. I’m all for the excitement and rough play. But maybe that’s me sorry for the confusion

We all know why the cops show up in force at Union Ridgeview games. Just ask them boys from Dickinson co. what 2 guarrant brothers can do to 20 of them.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The cops weren't there for the ballgame at all. They were there to clear out the stadium as quickly as possible so the town could finish setting up for Blue Highway.

Spoke to one of the workers before the game. They still had more tents to put up, take the goalpost down and whatever else. Gates open at 10 am this morning.

This^.  Football is important, but not more so than money! 💰

Do they usually host this during an away game or is it preferred for home.  There was some good music being played on the way out of the park.  I stopped and listened for a bit.

I thought the game was played pretty clean until late in the 4th when the outcome was pretty much decided.  Sometimes we forget that these are kids playing a game.

Agreed. I think there was only one or two unsportsmanlike penalties and IIRC they were late which is fairly normal.

I think it was during the Ridgeview game last year and maybe the open week the year before. They're wanting to be consistent with the date each year, 2nd week of October is my understanding, so unless they line up the open date annually this will happen every other year.

It's a rush and large undertaking for the town.

Big money maker and such a good event.  I hope they anchor it in around about a month after Rhymn and Roots.

I'm not sure exactly how it came to be or why they chose BSG to host, besides the talking points give in interviews, but the organizers seem to be very pleased with the results.

It grew last year and is expected to grow again this year. They extended to Sunday with a gospel lineup and I was told it had sold out already.

Very good event for BSG and Southwest Virginia as a whole since people are literally coming from every direction. That means they're stopping for gas, food or lodging on the way.

I don’t know about the music but I sure was smelling some good grilling going on from somewhere nearby

Was almost tempted to leave the game lol!!!

I got about 10 miles up the road and realized I walked right by all that damn food.  I was self-pissed.

No sir referring to all the ridgeview men who ran their mouth that night. The moms got in the way unfortunately
