SXSW Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Since they don't play this week, why start a new topic about it, wait a week and then we will talk! Quote

Stelley Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 It’s alright. He’s a new poster and as long as he’s excited for games he’s fine w me. Just doesn’t have a grasp for how the topics usually work yet Quote
Wolf1207 Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 Now it’s legal to talk about this game! Lol Quote
Union_Fan Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 Much better looking game than Union/Battle. If the weather forecast holds steady I'll be watching this one in person. Quote
Unchained Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 Gate City physically whips the Pack in the trenches, plays ball control and wins on the road to nail down the #2 seed 27-14 Quote

If healthy, I agree with this take. Otherwise, I see it much closer and could go either way. Quote
Observer Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 Ridgeview needs to figure some things out offensively. I like what they did last night with the quarterback change and different formations. They have to be able to throw the ball and that just hasn't been happening. I think they will be fine defensively. The key to this ballgame, just like at Union, will be in the trenches. Gate City is very good up front and will pose a challenge to Ridgeview. Quote
S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 Gate city 28 Pack 21 Sealed late in the contest Quote
Observer Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 This game will have huge homefield implications for the playoffs. The winner of this game will get a home game in the 2nd round, of course if both teams were to win in the 1st round. Quote
Wolf1207 Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 I'm sure GC has a better line than RV, but it's not like RV is horrible on the line. It's manigable. They were able to move the ball on the ground against Union. For the game, I think it'll co me down to turnovers and penalties. I expect a really good game where GC may control the game for about 70% of the time. RV does have these flashes where they can go off for a quick few scores. If they can jump on GC like they did Union, I don't think they come all the way back. SwvaOG 1 Quote

Gate City can control the game in the trenches (both sides of the ball)( the passing game is good enough and getting better), but will they! That's why they play the game! I picked GC to be 8-2 at the start of the year and I am riding with that. I thing it will like the GC-DB game early in the year GC 28-RV 24. Quote
Union_Fan Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 GC has the better line play, Ridgeview has more explosiveness and overall team speed. I don't think either is far enough ahead of the other to be the deciding factor. If GC can control big plays, they win. If Ridgeview can get some TDs from PR, KR or other big plays, they win. Two very equal teams, just with different strengths and weaknesses. Fourth quarter will decide the game. If Ridgeview is up by 14 or more going into the 4th, they'll hold on. If it's tied or within 7 points, GC wins. Let's see what happens. Quote
bearforce1 Posted Tuesday at 02:33 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 02:33 AM If gate city controls the big plays from rv they win by a score or two. Quote
S10SQUAREBODY4LIFE Posted Tuesday at 12:14 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 12:14 PM Stop deel, win. Don't stop deel, lose. If rv plays like they did vs ab it could get ugly. Should be a great game. Quote
jarhead24219 Posted Wednesday at 02:48 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 02:48 AM Quick game, power by both teams limiting the others touches .28-14 GC Quote
SXSW Posted Thursday at 11:45 AM Report Posted Thursday at 11:45 AM Looks like it going to a very rainy night Friday, could the weather slow either team down? Quote
jeffro Posted Thursday at 07:10 PM Report Posted Thursday at 07:10 PM Should be a heck of a game. Going with home team 24-21 Quote
BigWinners Posted Thursday at 08:59 PM Report Posted Thursday at 08:59 PM I think GC wins 22-21. I think they’re mostly healthy and can produce more reliable scoring drives. RV seems very boom or bust. A couple drives go nowhere, boom Deel goes 70, couple more nowhere drives, etc. RV has to get 25 more involved. He’s a hell of a player abd a matchup nightmare. Can’t just rely on Deel, teams can slow that down. I know the QB has had growing pains but I think he’s improving and finding 25 in space will only help him. Quote
Observer Posted Friday at 05:34 PM Report Posted Friday at 05:34 PM I'm interested to see what Ridgeview does at quarterback. They switched things up a little bit last week and even ran the wildcat a few plays. Quote

Some of it was out of necessity but I think they like the results and it gives them another dimension. rdh2443 1 Quote
