Repeat comment from another thread. I think it is worth discussing. Bad scene last night at PH. I didn't travel far due to the cold and was surprised at the ending. A seemly harmless (maybe a penalty) throwing down of the PH punt returner and the melee started. PH [players ran off the sideline auto ejection and Coach Robinson and Coach T Frye from Chilhowie showed their butts by going across the field and was super aggressive toward the PH players and coaches. I think someone needs to send to officials association or vhsl.

Anyone have any video? I’d really prefer to see it all play out before any specific comments. Definitely sounds ugly though. Is there history between these two?

You can't really see the fight due to the replay of the tackle. It was a bit excessive, but not unusual. Definitely a penalty. You can see the coaches yelling and I'm pretty sure the ref just said blank it since the score was 40-7.

I just watched it on NFHS, and @swvafbrespect described the play accurately.  When it cuts back to live after the replay, you see Chilhowie coaches in aggressive mode and being held back.

 

Emotions got the best of PH’s players, and Chilhowie’s coaches made sure it didn’t stop there. Both sides share blame — but only one had grown men behaving worse than the kids.

When you say auto ejection does that mean Pat Henry missing lot of players next week?

If it comes down to adults vs kids, adults should know better. I’m not saying kids shouldn’t know better but adults need to deescalate rather than escalate an already tense situation.

Does anyone know where Robinson was during that? And isn’t he their AD?  Definitely not a good look if he was over there doing anything other than trying to get his guys back to the sideline

No ejections to my knowledge but Robinson was the tall one being very demonstrative.

Chilhowie's now 8–1, yet the story’s about the former head coach’s on-field tantrum.

Reid Sturgill doesn't need his "help". Time to hang up the whistle and focus on becoming a professional AD.

Sounds like situation may get messy. Wasn’t sure how much discipline Patrick Henry would have with new coach but I would guess discipline isn’t what it was with Palmer. Didn’t see coaches or players get out of line that way on any of his deacon or rebel teams

Yes Robinson is the AD and baseball coach. Had to step down as football head coach because he is AD, but doesn’t like to give up control. I think Sturgill was hired so he could still have some control over the program.  Just my 2 cents.

As a PH fan for many years and having two sons wear the uniform with pride I was embarrassed of the actions of our coaching staff Friday night. It’s worth mentioning the PH coach Dakota Rector who hit a Chilhowie player during the scuffle. Both teams and staffs may have not handled the situation the best but I only seen Coach Rector lay his lands on another player. Was this what upset Robinson and staff?? Any coach who lays their hands on a player should never be allowed to coach again IMO this is inexcusable. You are roll models to these kids how are the kids to be held accountable if the coaches are not??
