BoBob Posted November 12 Report Posted November 12 So I heard that the Glenvar QB went down which is a big blow for them. In talking to one of our coaches they said he was even a better defensive player than QB (which was not a slight to his QB skills rather than a praise for his physicality) Is the young man out for the season? This leaves region C open and makes a smoother road for the someone out of D to make it to Salem. Hope the young man will be back. Quote
Union_Fan Posted November 12 Report Posted November 12 Right before half, he throws a TD pass, and immediately after, makes an odd motion. Like a wince of pain. He never came back after that and was seen on the sideline with a sling on. I have no idea of the exact injury. Quote
Bd91 Posted November 12 Report Posted November 12 Roanoke Times says he’s out this week and unknown for a possible regional semifinal game Quote
RadCat Posted November 12 Report Posted November 12 Roanoke.com headline says he is out this week. I won't pay for a subscription, so I don't know if it said anything about the injury or further playoff games. Quote
Real Sasquatch Posted November 12 Report Posted November 12 Don't think its his collarbone. He was lifting both arms up when being looked at when I watched hi-lights. If his collarbone is broken, there is no way he can lift up his arms, I broke my collarbones once and couldn't rotate my shoulder at all. Unchained 1 Quote

I want him healthy so when they lose to the Region D Champion, they will not have that excuse. Real Sasquatch 1 Quote

I doubt they would make that excuse...but i will say it...hes a huge part of their team and it will kill any chance they have against union or graham Quote
cityofRaven Posted November 12 Report Posted November 12 The rumor around Roanoke is that they replaced the broken collarbone with an unbroken collarbone from a teammate who doesn't need it. Real Sasquatch, Queue, RadCat and 8 others 1 9 1 Quote

Rumor was they were going to borrow one from Galax, but they were afraid it would quit. Queue, gwloyal, Gridiron60 and 3 others 1 1 4 Quote

Gridiron60 Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 I have a buddy from Salem who said he’d heard out this week but most likely back for regional semis. Of course, like everything else just speculation probably but I certainly hope it’s true. I really hate for any player to miss out on any games due to injury but especially a Senior during playoffs. I’d say their enrollment isn’t much different than Armstrong. If they want to “identify” as a small school, that’s their prerogative. 😂😂😂 Quote

Union_Fan Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 I'm going to guess his comment about being a small school had to do with Glenvar's low numbers this year for football. Clifford mentioned at the beginning of the season that this was the lowest turnout since he's been head coach and they only had 7 healthy linemen going into the 1st scrimmage. Quote

1inStripes Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 They are in the top half of ADM currently in 2A. Thats a soft comment. Quote
