This has been going on for years. Even back in the seventies I remember a band director was envolved with a student ( they eventually got married) and a coach and a prominet family's daughter were envolved.

Back then nobody seemed to think anything about it.

When I was at Graham in the early 80s we had a teacher dating a current student. Everyone knew it, nobody cared. They eventually got married and had kids (ultimately divorced though).

As far as I know nothing has been decided yet.  On a side note, the head basketball coaching position is posted for Tazewell High School.

Another coach gone at Tazewell?!?

Sure sounds like a great environment to jump into...

Hopefully the Bulldogs can turn it around with Jme Harris returning and get a good coach on the hardwood court. Tazewell should take a look at former Tazewell basketball great and a former friend of mine, Donnie Jordan, who I believe is still down in Wise. He was an assistant at UVA Wise for a bit and he absolutely knows basketball. If the Dogs can get him back home, then the Dogs are landing a slam-dunk on the hardwood.

I'm sure they will get a fine replacement and get things going in the right direction.  Folks can joke around all they want, but the truth is, there needs to be more development at the younger ages.  Tazewell had a few solid ball players this year.  In the grand scheme of things, if you are on a winning or losing team in high school, it doesn't really matter as long as you are learning to be a better person, that's what we should all really strive for, a coach that shows compassion for their players and shows them they care and how they should treat other people and be respectful.  Wins come with developing talent over a number of years.  First thing is to start winning some games (I think they are on the right track for that).....that will get more kids to come out.  However, if you don't have the youth leagues to develop talent, you are going to struggle.  I would love to see that sports complex come to Tazewell that they talked about a few years back, but I don't think it will ever happen.

Itll be on the baseball field as soon as they play each other.   The parade will be around the bases.

And another one up and down the soccer pitch.

At least Richlands finally figured out how to build a baseball field just in time for the parade

Richlands got a baseball field, Tazewell got rubberized track (they didn’t host a meet last year and don’t think they are this year), new dugout at Tazewell , both got upgrades to softball fields I believe but no lights or bleachers for Graham. Sorry…got off topic.
