Let's be real.

Tazewell could hire Nick Saban, and they would run him out of town, even if he doesn't have relations with someone's wife.

Would sleeping with someone’s wife help or hurt? Im a tad confused. I don’t shame, whatever those Tazwell folks are into, get it in lol

I don’t know if it should be a new topic, but I would be interested in the responses from different communities if it were, but what does Tazewell have to offer for its football program?

stubean’s post got me thinking, but I would like to hear from other Tazewell fans as well. I’m speaking to selling the program to attract more applicants. The instability is certainly a deterrent.

Instability is in fine print under the 'Welcome to Tazewell' sign.

Nowhere else in the Southwest Virginia/Southern West Virginia region has had more turnover in coaches than Tazewell.

I was told from another source on the inside that J'me applied along with a coach from Union and a candidate from Georgia.  I don['t know anything about the other two but you know what you get with J'me.

I hope the discipline issue will be resolved and only time will tell there.  I hope other things will be resolved as well.  I think the capability of being good is there and the next step can be taken but we will see.  I don't think it was the right pick but might have been the best pick given the choices.

On another note I have heard mixed opinions on Deacon.  Everybody loves him but several people have had reservations about him as a head coach.  No debate that he is one of the best assistants anywhere.  It is what it is and we will see what happens come Aug.  Hopefully numbers stay up and it let's see what kind of offense comes out on the field.  Could be an exciting season in the making...I hope at least.

There were 4 people who applied.  A former Grayson Co. Coach was one.  A former Gretna coach was one.  The other two were Tazewell alum.

Time for 6-4 7-3 seasons with one and done in the post season. Hate to say it but he can’t win big games.🤷🏻‍♂️

He treats every big game like a scrimmage. Really not helping kids in this since.

Why?

Central will have a new head football coach in the fall. Athletic Director Nick Sturgill confirms Josh Spurlock's football coaching contract will not be renewed. "We're going in a different direction," Sturgill said. (Via Kevin Mays).

6-4 or 7-3 is not the norm, but the exception. He's more like 5 and 5 for the average season and the occasional 7-3 or 6-4 with the first round playoff exit.

I bet the GA coach I was told about was a misinterpretation of Grayson.  Don't want any of that stink around for sure.  Depending on the era of the Gretna coach, that could have been good.  But if I remember right wasn't there some kind of issue regarding Gretna here in the not to distant past?

I personally put a lot of the fault on the school board but that's just me.  For years and years the favorite was either Richlands or Graham and Tazewell was kind of the oh yeah them thought.

Did anybody see the article regarding the funds being given to all the counties?  How is it that Tazewell and Dickenson counties get bare minimum but somewhere like Bath and Bland counties get a sizeable share?  Anyway I digress going on a tangent.  Still though...

From what has been mentioned I bet the former Gretna coach is the GA coach.
