Pass vs run , much like today’s game at Bullitt Park. Strasburg struggled covering pass last year in championship game. The Rams use a lot of misdirection, can Glenvar’s defense adjust? Strasburg is pretty stout on line too but so was Union. Thoughts?

I have a feeling this will be a close game.  Could go either way.  You want to stop Strasburgs offense, watch the championship game from last year.  Graham had some great players on defense last year, however....  I think Dawyot has a field day, but Strasburg has some success too running the ball.

Glenvar 35

Strasburg 28

Strasburg has lost each time vs region D going back years.  This is against 2C, but I think same result.  Offense is punishing for sure but defense is gonna have to be on point and get after qb for sure.

Strasburg had no luck stopping Graham’s passing game with Roberts at QB (probably his best game of his high school career) ,unless their pass defense has greatly improved, I don’t see them stopping Dawyot.

2 things.

A. History of Region B in Class 2. Its alarmingly rare for them to win a title since literally the turn of the century In Class 2.

B..Strasburg is putting up alarming numbers where games aren't even close and what is also exceedingly rare is how dominant they've been in regular season and the playoffs Compared To Most the past Region B, Class 2 winners since the turn of the century.

Should be a close one. I hope Clifford and Glenvar get it done.

Glenvar 28-14.  Too much  Dawyot .  Same as last year but a little better showing by Strausburg.

I think closer this year because Glenvar is not quite as good as last year  in my opinion plus Strasburg has been there before and possibly figured some things out but I still think Glenvar likely pulls the win.

I dont know. Strasburg is huge on defense. Dawyot could be running for his life all day

He took a pounding yesterday too. Tough kid, he never showed any vulnerability even after Union banged him around.  Union controlled TOP and ran for over 150 yards, I think Strasburg has similar success.

Yeh I even think Strasburg is stronger in the trenches than union was. I'll go Strasburg 24 glenvar 21

Zero state titles for Region B, Class 2 in 20 years. Only 2 titles for Region B, Class 2 in the last 1/4th of a century (since 2000). Also, bucket loads of titles for Region C, Class 2 since 2000, so history is on the side of Glenvar.

But, even though computer models such as Massey and Calpreps weren't around for High School picks many years ago, I would bet that if they were around, few to any Region B teams would look as good in the computers in the last 15 to 20 years as Strasburg does this year (a 9 point favorite). So, hard game to pick. History likes Glenvar. The computers like Strasburg.

Also in Class 2, once you get down to 4 teams left, very rarely does the team with the elite QB Not win it. So, history and the QB thing loves Glenvar. The current computers love Strasburg. Very tough game to pick.

Quicker off the ball and similar in size.  They keep it simple, block down,  trap, and kick out. Fun to watch an offense pound it inside and outside and sprinkle a pass here and there to keep teams honest. Think it'll look like the gate city vs db game. Similar score either way.

Dawyot bounces up every time. Not phased, a lot like Reece. Take a pounding and keep going without missing a beat. Tough young men!

He is a dawg.  Kid loves contact and plays with an attitude.  I love it.

Damn...that's a serious statement and, if true, they will be a load.  That being said, I did notice a couple of things about Union's OL that I hadn't noticed before.  I saw the big OT get slung to the ground several times by a kid that was about 210lbs...including on the last play of the game.  I watched the plays several times....the big Union kid had really poor balance and couldn't move his feet.  This reinforces my believe that a 225lb DT/DE with good technique and a nasty attitude can handle/whip most 275lb+ high school OL.

If I'm a high school coach, I'm building from the interior DL out. Priority #1: DL...then OL....then QB....then DB....then the rest.

My statement was more about their dline. Which I'm sure is most if not all of their oline as well. They look bigger than union. And not just big, but athletically big. Very strong bunch. Watch the game against stuarts draft. And draft wasn't a slouch. Would love to see the poquoson game. To only hold them to 10. But they'll be facing a much better qb. But I still think Strasburg will greatly outmatch them in the trenches and that will be the difference

Straus is built VERY similar to Union.   Line it up and run over you with the occasional pass to keep D in check.  No real speedsters. Just mis direction out the wazoo.  Is Glenvar is smart they’ll study last years game Vs Graham.  Sell out stopping the run and fill ALL the gaps.  Force ‘burg to throw.  Defensively Straus strong bunch of guys but not so good in coverage against multiple receivers.  There schedule didn’t help getting comfy in coverage.   Again if Dawyot is not on his back he may have a big game.

Is that the kid that got rocked by Palmer last year or did he graduate?  Also, I remember # 74 was very good last year.

I think it may have been..he's #1. Can't remember his name. #3 is pretty solid too. But their line really impresses me. The size they have and not just big big but athletic big. Can't wait to see how it plays out. I think the line will be too much for glenvar. And from what ive seen Strasburg is pretty good on pass defense too.
