I personally think if edwards wants it. He should definitely be top choice with Bostoc 2nd. Now if neither of them want it thats where  i could see numerous names going after it. The job is probably top 5 job in swva. I could see Joel Davis, Joey Carroll, coach from Abingdon and Mike Rhodes

Capable hands already there.  Leave it as is.  Anyone that's coached on a staff and given the chance to change a few things for the better when a coach is out of the way could be a grand opportunity for a program.  Edwards defense has been steadily improving/ consistent for several years now.  Offense will change yearly based on players but figuring out balance pass/ run is always the challenge. Looking at what's returning and moving up, give edwards the job.

Rather have Chris Akers and 5 disgruntled GC fans at the helm with them in a weekly, cage match, battle Royale on the 50 yard line before and after the game.

5 diagruntled GC fans should be pretty easy to find...

I say, get somebody from within and keep the coaching staff in tact.

Union needs to do something offensively. Yes, Edwards seems like the man and would be solid, but in my opinion, Union needs to bring in somebody from the outside to be the OC. Union lost that game Saturday directly because of their offensive system. Union is actually More Athletic than Glenvar this year. Thats right, better athletes. Union went away for some unknown reason.....went away from the QB getting outside of the pocket and using his feet in the 3RD Quarter. That was the difference.

In the 4th with Union down and urgency setting in and no choice, they went with the QB getting outside of the pocket with the run/pass option and it hurt Glenvar bad. But, Union did it out of urgency/desperation from being down 2 TDs, not by Choice. The Choice part of it should have been immediately when the 3rd quarter started. Union had WRs open the entire game and the QB can absolutely throw the ball, but again I warned of this....Will Union Trust Him for 4 quarters? The answer was no.

Union left a state title on the field in 2025 in my opinion. Even with Dawyot, Unions 22 is more talented than Glenvars 22 and Union, with just a Modern half way normal offensive scheme in 2025, would walk into Salem this year.

Just my opinion. I was rooting for the Bears and wanted them to win. Union has absolutely Got to Make changes offensively or they will never win a state title. Same thing applies to Poquoson down East. If you dont adapt a little bit in 2025 offensively, you can have all the athletes or great players and winning a state title is very tough. I know....Strasburg in 2025. They are the absolute Exception to the rule if they pull it off. It hasn't happened in over a decade with a team like Strasburg, Poquoson, Union winning a Class 2 title with the nearly always run first on 1st and 2nd down offensive scheme, and you have to go back to Giles around 2013.

Unions urgency with finding the new Head Coach is important, but the same level of urgency should be placed on revamping their offensive system and no, you dont have to become Oregon or Texas Tech. But you need to have and offensive system that allows reasonable confidence in your ability to toss the ball in the air on early downs sometimes when the defense is just loading the box with 8 players. Just my opinion. Union is class act. Great program. Got to do something different offensively though.

I think if Edwards stays on, and Bostic remains as OC things may open up more as well though.   They couldn't really change the identity in the playoffs and had no major reason to.  Bostic and Edwards both played for James Colley. It wouldn't surprise me to see adaptations made that maybe the previous HC had more of a controlling presence over.  Not saying they didnt have big inputs on what was ran before, but with their background more tweaks wouldn't surprise me.

Edward's seems like a good guy, a likeable guy. He did well with wat was put on him. I like how he switched it up against glenvar too. Maybe that was out of necessity due to injuries, I don't know. But serious question, wat do they keep in those backpacks?

I thought they did great by switching it up kinda early going spread. They did pretty good in that formation. As I thought they would with their athletes. Just maybe implement it more in practice and games making them even more comfortable with it .

But I agree that union had the better athletes overall. I think they would've matched up better with Strasburg.  Maybe, we'll see

Greg Mance. Just kidding, but it would be interesting to see how well he would do with a full cupboard and not having build or rebuild a program from scratch.

In all seriousness, Edwards, the incumbent deserves a shot if he wants it.
