Tony Palmer gave all 50 of the coaches on that staff a copy of his book he wrote in 2018 of How to Win a State Championship for Dummies. They literally tried to ruin him and the man did nothing wrong. Tell you how good I think he is. I love Greg Mance. Great coach and first class. I know you Union guys are way southwest in Wise County and some of you are much more attuned with Tennessee and Kentucky schools on the border compared to Class 3 and above football in VA outside the coverage area. Save my post for future reference. Harless is......that good. His coaching prowess is well known from the Roanoke Valley and all through Central VA and the southern Shendandoah Valley. I know many Union fans probably want to keep it local and/or within, or a person with some connection to your program or nearby. I don't blame you. I would do the same............except in the case of landing a slam dunk, you go with the exception. Harless is the exception. If he wanted the job, stop the search. Stop the interviews. 1inStripes Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 Harless would be a slam dunk as coaching goes. The politics of it would be interesting to watch. Harless would probably do some things that IMO are probably needed (just an outsiders perspective) but would go over with many in the community like a fart in church. Lot of short term pain for many, but if they can get over it a lot of gain. Quote
